It’s been almost 5 years since he was a face but he’s so damn entertaining as a delusional heel lol. I think he’s talented enough to pull the face act off but I would miss him as a heel

Ever? Absolutely.
Hell, honestly feels like it'll come sooner rather than later, like if he gets the MITB briefcase and goes after Roman.

He better get that catchy theme back when he does.

It would be a great thing to do in his last few months as a full time guy to put someone over on the way out

Yeah but it doesn't need to happen until he fails at a main event level as a heel. He hasn't hit his peak as a heel yet with his current character.

I feel like he’s still getting better and better as a heel, so there’s no need to rush back to being a face anytime soon. I’m sure he’d pull it off just fine if they did want him face, though.

it could happen ironically where sami is so far gone in his delusions (except for KO's obvious delusion that Ezekiel and Elias are the same person- there are some lines even sami won;t cross) that the fans start to encourage him until one day he discovers irrefutable proof that he was right all along.

It is weird to say that he hasn't even really hit his full stride as a heel, so far now he still has legs left for that run
But yes, a big face turn I can see happening. With him and KO both heels again I can see them teaming them up again and finally winning the tag belts at some point this year

I misread 'back' as 'black' and wondered why he would actually need to.

He's beloved, so he'll eventually get the face reaction.
I was skeptical if he could work as a heel, but him getting the initial rub with Kevin Owens helped propel his heel run. He's done great.

I want him to stay heel long enough for an angle with face Cameron Grimes.
Put Cameron over (the MOON) and then he can turn.

I would do it in a very simple fashion. Sorry Cody fans, but this is my fantasy booking on how to do it. Sami suffers one more "embarrassing" loss (maybe to Ricochet in a ladder match or something on a Smackdown real soon.) Later in the show he looks dejected and walks out of the arena. That's the last we see of him for a while. From late May to June we see vignettes of Sami where he explains his career frustrations got the best of him and he wasn't in a good place. He didn't like the person he became. He is now trying to reconnect with the person he was and embrace it. The underdog from the underground. He declares for MITB (it's WWE that can happen just because.) He returns at MITB and wins it. He wins and announces that he will cash in at Summerslam against Roman. No surprises. Roman laughs the whole way to Summerslam. He brings up that humiliating Smackdown last year where Brock and he destroyed him. He brings up Knoxville and how Sami never lived up to the hype. Sami dethrones Roman at summerslam to win the title in a huge babyface moment.
Cody can win the rumble and have his moment at Mania 39. Probably not against Sami.

He should, but this character is so over and the management seems to like it so much that I see him ending up in the Bob Backlund role - a technical wiz who ends up remembered more for a character he does so well that he ends being brought back for cameos well into the distant future.
