Seriously in 2017-2018, he was there once every 4 months and gave us only 1 good match at Summerslam 2017, gave us a filthy Main Event at WrestleMania 34!
In comparison, CM Punk in 2011-2013 was there every weeks on every Raw and every ppv except TLC 2012 for injury and gave us great promos and great matches against Alberto Del Rio and The Miz at TLC 2011, Daniel Bryan at Over The Limit and MITB 2012 and John Cena at Night of Champions. His only bad match was against Ryback at HIAC.
I seriously don't understand the federation for wasting talents like Kevin Owens on the profile of a guy who has nothing to do with wrestling anymore and who comes there just for the money!

He didn't break Punk's record. It was a different title, and Punk's reign wasn't a record, it wasn't even top 5 for the title.
Bruno, Hogan, Backlund, and Pedro Morales all had reigns for over 1000 days, hell Bruno had 2 of them. You could double Punk's reign, and he still isn't top 5.

I think the fact that what Punk had wasn't a record made the fact they seemed to book around 'breaking' it all the weirder. All it took was dropping their made up accolade of the 'longest reign of the modern era' or whatever. Brock's reign was absolute misery. I don't know about deserving or working hard or nay of that but it was garbage TV and that's what's important.

What I didn’t like at the time, and I've rewatched some of it back but it was the way they tried to make it sound like it was an insignificant reign as he’d not beaten anyone and was still trying to prove himself a top star. It was a huge reign with the WWE title which isn’t something few have done ever. Maybe I’m wrong but it just bugged me.

Brock is a massive box office draw. He knows it, Vince knows it, so he gets to negotiate for the schedule he wants as a champion and fans go crazy when he shows up without him having to deal with the cutthroat aspects of the business that drove Punk on that eight year hiatus.
Good on Brock.

Punk’s record wasn’t a record and if it wasn’t for the Cena matches, Punk’s reign would’ve been as dire as the waning days of Brock’s run

Imma be honest...Punk shouldn't have helt that title for as long as he held it. Half his reign was on the undercard compared to a Lesnar who was main event most of the time. Like, I forgot Punk had that belt for how shitty half that reign was. Dude was always playing second fiddle.

It's a work, brother. Who cares, I don't care. Titles are props at the end of the day used to get talent over and advance storylines. The E can book whoever to do whatever with their titles as can any other company.

Reminds me of when Nikki Bella had a frankly dull title reign because they cared more about eclipsing AJ Lee than they did booking something interesting. Nikki wasn't even a bad champion, exactly, but the reign did nothing to play to her strengths and just put her in fans' crosshairs due to how nakedly obvious it was what they were doing.

That reign also had her wrestle while injured and keeping her doing a finisher that f***ed her neck up for the sake of a boob job joke.

And then Charlotte went and had an even longer run on top that felt much more organic, but it's not reflected as such in the records because the Divas title changed into the (Raw) Women's title and is recognized as two shorter reigns as a result.

And that's probably the only time she had a title reign that felt organic. And that's the first short one ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

There is no such thing as deserve in wrestling.
And if there was, Brock would not care about it whatsoever.
