We've all talked about notorious liars in the business such as Hulk Hogan, Honky Tonk Man, Paul Heyman, Bruce Prichard and others who were known to fabricate the truth in shoot interviews, but what about people in the industry who's actions/words are more reliable when it comes to these things?
I know this sounds like a bit of an oxymoron given this is a shady industry based on lies, but out of all the wrestlers who is the most reputable? I'm talking about stories they had that match up with the facts, can be backed up by multiple people around them, and what we know based on what we've seen of them?
I'm serious, I never hear about anybody in the business that is known for telling the truth or the closest version to it, so I'm interested in seeing a list of names we can trust on their words.

So far CM Punk seems to be pretty straightforward, even if it makes him seem like a jerk sometimes.

X-PAC. He never seems to mince words and he’s very open and holds himself accountable for his own mistakes. His youshoot was one of the best, he pulled no punches without it seeming like he had an ax to grind against anyone.

Regal has to be up there. His book is brutally honest, mostly at his own expense. I’m not saying Goldberg is a liar but I tend to believe Regal’s account of their incident because he’s said stuff that makes him look far worse elsewhere and admitted when he was in the wrong, why would he lie about that match in particular?

From his interviews Bruno seems honest. He definitely has a high opinion of himself and his career (while still being humble) but he seems trustworthy. I have no way of verifying what he says though.

Bitter, grumpy Bret. His viewpoint has been consistent for 20 years.

I'd say Jake Roberts has zero problems going into detail about his life.

X-PAC. He never seems to mince words and he’s very open and holds himself accountable for his own mistakes. His youshoot was one of the best, he pulled no punches without it seeming like he had an ax to grind against anyone. Several years ago, he was wrestling in AAA and there was an incident with someone, I want to say it was Juventud Guerrera. During an interview after, Guerrera blasted Waltman and accused him of using drugs, and said that after their incident, Waltman had shit in his bag. I was listening to a live interview with X-Pac, and it turned out the interview with Juventud had been on the same show. Waltman exclaimed, “I heard that, you guys didn’t even lead him into it, not even just, ‘Hey, Pac’s down there, how’s he doing?’ The guy just started shit talking me!” I can’t remember if he ever said what the incident was, but I remember him saying, “So f*** him, I shit in his bag!”

Bret Hart has consistently told the same stories, the same way always.

I'd say Jake Roberts has zero problems going into detail about his life. From what i've heard Jake Roberts isn't the most reliable when it comes to shoot interviews. He may not lie out of malicious intent like some others do, but the details aren't always accurate. I can't think of any particular stories he was wrong about, but overall he isn't to be trusted in a shoot interview. Jacques Rougeau comes off as a genuine guy in shoot interviews and him being a backstage hero(especially with standing up in Dynamite Kid and The Steiners) back that up, but I get the feeling he comes off as playing the victim a little too much.

I would say Nikolai, Tito, Ax, Smash and Akeem come to mind. I'm sure all of them have been happily married, family men for many years (prior to Nikolai's death in his case). I doubt any ever had affairs on the road. They were/all just really good guys. Akeem was the original "doesn't work for me, brother." He's very honest about leaving WWF and WCW both when things didn't work for his liking. He left WWF like a month prior to Survivor Series and Vince was pretty upset about that. Then he wouldn't do a clean job to PN News in 1991.

For all his controversial thoughts and opinions, when it comes to actual facts e.g. telling stories Jim Cornette has always seemed honest.

Jake Roberts is also in his mid to late 60s. His memory may not be as reliable as it once was.
