From what i've heard Jake Roberts isn't the most reliable when it comes to shoot interviews. He may not lie out of malicious intent like some others do, but the details aren't always accurate. I can't think of any particular stories he was wrong about, but overall he isn't to be trusted in a shoot interview. Jacques Rougeau comes off as a genuine guy in shoot interviews and him being a backstage hero(especially with standing up in Dynamite Kid and The Steiners) back that up, but I get the feeling he comes off as playing the victim a little too much. Jake Roberts is also in his mid to late 60s. His memory may not be as reliable as it once was. Mid to late 60's and a long time drug abuser. He may think he's being truthful, and it's just that things didn't happen the way he saw them.

Do any professional wrestlers support Ayr United (The Honest Men)? If so, there is your answer.

Aside from retirement announcements, what about Terry Funk?

Aside from retirement announcements, what about Terry Funk? We should have a thread "kind hearted wrestlers" and Terry would be a top pick. I think honesty is such a subjective term since you do have guys who are older or abused their brains with drugs and alcohol or hardcore matches and may not remember things but are not necessarily making it up. But Terry does deserve a nod in any kind of positive thread like this here. The man was dedicated to his job, making the fans happy and most importantly his wife.

How would I know? I wasn't there for any of this stuff.
I'll use a guy like Kevin Nash. Most times he tells his version of a story, it's very similar each time. Stories he told RF Video in 2005 are retold the same to KC Commentaries 10 years later. Who am I to say who's lying?

How about Hulk Hogan?
He NEVER lies. He NEVER lied about taking steroids when Aresio Hall interviewed him. He NEVER lied in his autobiographies. He NEVER lied on his 1990 Nickelodeon special The Traumatic Youth of Hulk Hogan.
He’s like Walter Cronkite. Abe Lincoln if you will…BEHAHAHAHAHA!

Steve Austin, despite his faults, is pretty up front and honest. Especially about his own career and body of work. He'll give himself kudos, but also has no problem admitting when things were awful and just didn't work.

Bitter, grumpy Bret. His viewpoint has been consistent for 20 years. I don't find Bret bitter at all. People just tend to focus on things he says that aren't wholly positive.

I 100% believe the Hulkster has never told a lie once!! I still can remember the Montreal Screwjob that happened at Wrestlemania 13 when Shawn held down Bret for a pin and the ref counted the three, and the crowd started chanting "Bret Screwed Bret", Hogan was right behind the curtain watching, so I have to believe him!!

Someone asked him about Dee Dee Ramone’s autobiography and if it was actually the truth. He said, “Half of it actually happened. The other half, Dee Dee believes actually happened.”

Bret is an obvious one.
Barry Windham always struck me as a real straight shooter in shoot interview. Really to the point and not afraid to pull punches while not being mean or anything about it either. He also seemed to be honest when it came to himself. I remember in one interview they asked him who he thought the most overrated wrestler was and he answered with himself and said he didn't think he was as good others thought he was.

I'm just playing the general perception card. I think Bret Hart just speaks in a matter of fact way. He's also got real good, funny stories of his time and those get overlooked.

Not a wrestler but Tony Schiavone. Really enjoy his podcasts and I don't ever recall even once thinking he was full of shit or trying to spin things to make himself look good. Just seems like an honest and humble guy.

Paul Boesch. He counts as he wrestled before he was a promoter. I don't think anyone has ever said anything other than he was one of the few honest promoters in the business.

I'll always remember the Montreal Screwjob at that years Wrestlemania. Mostly due to the 134,000 watching at the Silverstone, but also it's notable that Andre died that night.
