I wasn't sure where to post this, mods can move, remove, lock, whatever.
Some people may remember a few months ago when I derailed a thread here, as a result of my deep dislike of Adam Cole. The thread ended with me just removing my account.
I felt quite bad about it, but decided to stay away.
I now figured I'd come here and offer an apology because it was pointed out to me that my comments on Adam Cole's physique may cut deep with some people who are reading, and perhaps struggling with body image issues. And it was asinine to derail a thread like to that, to begin with.
I apologize, I'm very bad on the internet sometimes. And I especially apologize if my comments about Adam Cole caused anyone to have any negative feelings regarding their own bodies. That's not cool.
I may stick around, but I will certainly not dare to read or post on the AEW section due to it being a warzone by the looks of it.
Sorry if this is cringe, this may be super cringe.

It was a reference to my own aforementioned faulty personality that can get needlessly heated online. People better than me can navigate stuff like this better. That was what I meant. Anyhoo.

The AEW sections gone through it's own stuff since you've been away, really, I wouldn't call it a "warzone", I'd call it annoying more than anything else, really, but I mean there's still plenty of fun to be had here, I'd like to think that isn't that way, and it will hopefully only improve with Mods cracking down on certain things
In any case it's very admirable of you to admit you were wrong and overstepped, whatever presence you have on this board moving forward I hope is a peaceful one

That Tribalist/Gatekeeping mentality is why I watch what I post here myself, and one of the reasons my love for AEW died, and I haven't watched a full show in a long, long time. Hell one of the responses so far has reaffirmed my "yup, best to stay out of this sandbox unless I absolutely have to" stance. Also, welcome back!

Reddit is a warzone.
This place? More like a slightly heated family feud.

No need to apologize or feel like you can't post for having a negative perception of Adam Cole (or anything AEW related). I honestly think that a large part of the "issue" online is the perception that AEW diehards won't accept criticism and that you need to "apologize" if you say or think anything negative about the company. That's what creates the "boys club" feel that some people seem to dislike about AEW.
I am as big of an AEW fan as there is and I rather strongly dislike the current WWE product, but I understand that others may feel differently and, at the end of the day, I'm just a weirdo trying to find some camaraderie during the work day by posting anonymously on a wrestling forum. I think most people feel like me. It feels like wrestling journalists and places like r/squaredcircle and *shudder* r/scjerk, which stand to profit if there is a rivalry and tension between the major pro wrestling companies, have sort of peddled this narrative of tribalism that isn't exactly rooted in truth (which is why, for example, I've steered clear of that Brian Alvarez thread that's currently going on). Sure, there's toxicity with any "fandom," but it's honestly not that bad around here in particular, and I genuinely don't believe your average "AEW fan" is all that offended if you dislike the company or any of its wrestlers.

The original post the guy is talking about wasnt just about critiscism of Adam Cole,it was a rough sequence of posts,if its what I`m remembering. Thats not to say he owes an apology but I think it might be a case it helps him to apologize.

No, I know...the "needs to lose weight" portion of my current username is in relation to what I considered to be bad faith criticisms of Adam Cole and Keith Lee. I was more responding to the "the AEW forum is a warzone" comment. It's really not. I just don't think anyone should be hesitant to post here out of a fear that negative AEW takes won't be accepted. This perception that AEW fans can't take criticism fosters tribalism, and I don't think it's entirely true. Here especially.

Nah, I stand behind my apology because of the reasons stated. And I'll mostly try to stay out of heated arguments due to my own flawed personality; I'm not the best at message boards. Or online in general. When it gets heated, I can sort of lose my focus and filter, and I can get aggressive and off-putting. I wasn't talking bad about the AEW section here, other than for what I gathered from the pinned post on top. For some reason, it's been bad elsewhere on wrestling social media, though. A lot of toxic name calling and personal attacks and stuff, over wrestling. And I haven't been exempt from dumb posts and stuff. But I'm getting a little tired of the whole thing. I'd like for people to just be friends and talk about wrestling. I don't have IRL friends who like wrestling, and I enjoy talking about it. I just want to put in my own personal effort into ensuring an atmosphere where people can just chill and talk wrestling. I'm not even a huge fan of either big company right now, hah. I've just been a fan for so long, I guess I want to keep wrestling as some sort of part of my life, or something. Both companies have something I like every week, I feel. But mostly stuff that makes me scroll my phone, I'm afraid to say.

If this place is a war zone I'd hate to see how people would describe shit like Reddit and some of the more active Wrestling Forums (hint hint).
This is the only board I know of that seems relatively mature and generally level headed.

As someone who was pretty loud on the other side of that Adam Cole thread about how the sort of stuff that people say about his body can be really hurtful, good on you for this. Keeping on not liking Adam Cole is totally fine, but it's good to have the lines drawn on when you're taking dislike of a guy and funneling it through something that can hurt other other people who are actually in the thread.

The Ichi made a general lighthearted comment about a whole forum, and didn't make a smart ass comment about a particular poster.
