When all is said and done and Trout retires, who's gonna be considered the better player?

He’s not retired yet so it’s impossible to tell. As far as we know Trout could retire a 5 time World Series champ or he could just get injured every year.

Too early to ask if you are wanting Trout to be better.

If you compare the two Trout is still fishy

If Trout retired tomorrow, I think you can make an argument for him being one of the best players of all time. Just no one really knows it because he has no personality and MLB is terrible at marketing its players.

I have no frame of reference since I stopped watching MLB decades ago, but this Trout fellow better be extremely talented and well rounded to be compared to Griffey without it being sacrilege.

Griffey as of right now.... but Trout obviously has a chance to eclipse him.

I'll still take Griffey
Tho Trout is great, I still want to see how he is under pressure. He's the number 1 player in the game but never really given that pressure. Baseball is a team sport but I still think Trout can become legendary and surpass Griffey and really put his name among the greats with postseasons performances which he hasn't done yet

So both players came into the league at 19, so if you compare to Trouts currant age 30. Griffey is leading in every counting stat except for BA, triples, SBs and strikeouts. If you look at the advance stats then the edge goes to Trout. Trout also has 3 MVPs to Ken's 1, so if Trouts back half his career isnt bogged down by injuries then he'll most likely pass JR in all stat categories. And will be viewed as the better player. But for right now I think its Griffey, his swing was and is a thing of beauty and its basically accepted by all baseball fans (99.3% of HOF votes speaks volumes about how hes viewed) that if he was able to stay healthy and productive during those Red years hed be looked at as one of if not the greatest to play the sport. Trout is great and is prob the best player of his era. But something that will be a strike against Trout in the public eye is his lack of personality and charisma, he doesnt want to be the face of baseball and thats fine its his choice but its one of the reasons Griffey is so fondly remembered, every kid who loved baseball in the 90s wanted to be like Griffey, hell the man even had his own baseball game!

I’d still say The Kid. But again, Trouts still active so you can’t really give a definitive until he hangs them up
