It went head to head with the NBA Playoffs (The Sixers/Raptors which took number one on the whole night), the fact it placed Top 10, and was the only Non-NBA/Major Sport thing that did, is a win for them

All things considered, I’m surprised they did that well.

Seems like just about what they do for a normal Rampage. Which isn’t bad. I do wish they’d promote these shows more. But it’s all good considering the NBA.

About 500,000 people will seek out a pre-taped, not really well-advertised hour of AEW (and TK owned RoH) content so long as some upper-card stars in title matches are on it. That has to be a positive no matter how you look at it.

Wrestling's numbers are going to be affected by the NBA playoffs for the next couple of months. This is a good number all things considered.
It wasn't even a particularly well-advertised or great looking card on paper, either. What I'm most curious about is how the ROH title match did in comparison to the TNT and Women's Championships.

Interesting that about 50K more people overall watched this show versus Rampage but 50K less people in 18-49 watched it versus Rampage. Rampage ended up skewing extremely young this week.

For a card where there was no hot matches or stories, its a good number.

I'm guessing Rampage being at 7 meant more younger people were around to watch it while being out on Saturday night at 8.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but do you really think the number of young people home at 7pm on Friday and 8pm on a Saturday is that big a difference? People who go out will be out either way, and people who stay in will be in either way. For the record, I don't even know if this is considered a good rating or not, so I'm not trying to prove anything either way. It just seems like kind of a stretch for an explanation. Personally, I almost forgot about it because they were trying to advertise so many matches for Championship Week in general that it kinda got lost in the shuffle.

I expected so much worse so, that’s actually quite good.

I mean I have to say, although I did enjoy this show very much, if I'd not been awake anyway I'd not have been too hyped about it. Frankly, I don't really know why the BOTB shows exist, other than just to have more AEW, or reference the old Clash of the Champions shows. This one was a fun show, the last one was a bit mediocre, but neither struck me as being must-see, or really adding much to the product overall.

It was a deal in AEW moving to TBS along with a money increase Khan was reportedly not thrilled when he found out these would be one hour shows though, it sounded like he was really planning on them being much more like Mini-PPV events and once it was confirmed they were an hour, they became much less a priority, example the first one being a live, standalone event, and the second being a taped event coupled with a live Rampage (Better idea to sell tickets anyway tbh). They're fun though, they've used them for some development and some fun matches, but I am curious if they change the theme of them later, or if it's just gonna be Battle of the Belts going forward.

This makes a lot more sense, especially the part about it not being two hours. One hour is too short of a show to do more than three matches, but really just too short to do three satisfying PPV-type matches. I think that's why they felt so weird to me, they're a show that's got one foot in the TV area and one in the PPV area and end up being kinda neither.
