So I ordered a bottle of orgeat (almond syrup for cocktails) on Amazon. The glass bottle came shipped in a bubble envelope instead of being packed well in a box and when I opened the envelope suddenly my hands were sticky… I don’t know what the hell they did but there is a hole in the damn lid. The bottle is mostly full so I don’t think too much leaked. I’m inclined to think the delivery driver did the old toss-the-package I already got a refund, so no issue there. I gave it a small taste and I think it hasn’t turned bad. I hate to waste it if it is probably still good, but I’m not sure. Would you use it still?

Speaking as the guy in my house who regularly eats food that is past its expiration date because I hate to waste food…..
…I would say No do not eat that. You don’t know how long it has been upon or where is has been. Something sweet like that seems like a perfect magnet for bacteria.
You got your money back, so buy a fresh bottle.

nope on eating/drinking anything that's been damaged in delivery like that, anything could have happened to it and there is far too many risks from it.
that said, this is one of those things that shouldn't need the input of the internet on advice for the blatantly obvious "no"
