Would 4/10 be repurposed to describe his erection in this instance🤔 Idea: Make Bret the new GM of NXT 2.0 It would be great if they had a storyline with Toxic Attraction using their feminine wiles on horny old man Bret to get favorable treatment, even over Natalya. Natala: "But Uncle Bret I'm your niece" Bret: "Yeah so?"

Not like he'd have to be there in person either, he could just Zoom in or whatever and book his main event for In Your Hase House that way.

Bret is very preoccupied with his legacy and protecting it, so I am not really shocked. Additionally, yeah, Martha and Bret aren't on speaking terms, which yeah, I get, honestly. Their priorities are very different. I think Martha's kids talk to Natalya and maybe Gunner or some of the others, but that's largely it, from the sounds of things. Yep. Wasn’t part of the reason he came back in 2010 because WWE had the video library to the majority of his career and he wanted a say in how he was presented ? I mean WWE put stampede stuff on the network early on and then took it down because bret owns the rights to his stuff in stampede and nobody asked him. in a way I can understand why he’s that way given all that happened in Montreal. Yes, that's exactly it. He also wanted Martha to try to get Owen's footage rights in the lawsuit for the same reason, but I forget if she either didn't pursue that since it wasn't the point, or knew that wasn't realistic. Either way, she felt betrayed by him going to WWE, same with how the other Harts undermined her in the Owen lawsuit for their own interests. Bret's actions are far less egregious, but yeah, if I was Martha, I would probably feel some level of disgust, too.

I think Martha just didn't want WWE using footage of Owen rather Bret having anything to do with it. She sued WWE around 2010 over the "Hart Family" DVD, but WWE got the court to rule in their favor over their right to use Owen footage.

Then again though I remember being disappointed by his run as Raw commissioner in 2010. Then again it was 2010 Raw so I guess that's probably not fair to him. And we did get few gems such as him testing the Hart Dynasty by putting him against "DAH USEOHS! and saying it in a way that his young relatives should be absolutely sh***ing themselves in fear even though the Usos were brand new at that point and nobobdy knew who they were. Then there was also that time where he was "attacked" by Nexus when they super gingerly dragged him out of his office, ripped open his shirt for some reason either because I guess they wanted to embarrass him by showing his 50 something Dad bod or were real horny for the Hitman, and then throwing him in the back of a limo and backing it up at medium speed a few times into a few other cars before then pulling out Bret who sold it like he had been murdered.

I would have loved him in AEW. He was the guy to introduce the world title, but hey I’m glad he’s getting paid.

Get paid Bret. I don’t care where it is.
He’s earned it.

Bret deserves absolutely all the money in the world. And if Vince will just give him trucks of money to sit at home or do whatever he wants, cool.

Wasn't Jake still on a Legends deal when he signed with AEW? Granted I'm guessing that was signed before AEW was a thing No, he had likeness deals, approved by WWE, directly with 2K and Mattel. Since around 2003, WWE's partners can get WWE's permission to directly deal with a talent they want. That was how Bruno Sammartino and Ultimate Warrior got Jakks "WWE Classic Superstars" figures in 2004. Jake was showing up in WWE produced Documentaries and stuff around the same time as his debut in AEW. Hell his "most wanted treasures" episode was going on while he was doing the stuff with Cody. He clearly had some contract with WWE at least around that time.

I figured his deal was coming up....Mattel just threw like 4 Bret Hart figures at us within the past several months. Glad he's back!

I need to get Bret's thoughts on NXT 2.0, because he IS the same age as the average viewer after all. I like to think he's a huge Mandy Rose and Toxic Attraction fan. Bret: Whoever got a boner watching a Von Wagner match? *Wade slowly raises his hand*

I'm pretty sure that was actually the rationale for why Bret took the HoF induction in 2005, which helped change the DVD they were producing at the time from a Self-Destruction of Ultimate Warrior-style hitjob documentary on Bret to a more straightforward match compilation. That said, I agree with everyone that Bret Hart should be paid all the money he lost from his WCW deal ending early due to the Superkick-induced PCS, and then some. And if AEW and FTR played an incidental role in this, all the better since Bret no doubt used them as negotiating leverage.

Bret: Whoever got a boner watching a Von Wagner match? *Wade slowly raises his hand* Bret did an interview a few years back where he mentioned the people in WWE that he still talked to on a regular basis. And most of them were who you would expect probably. But then he mentions that the Bella’s were on that list as well. So IDK, maybe Bret keeps up with the women (his niece still works there after all). He made a guest appearance with his wife on Total Divas as well.

A Bret led faction of more wrestling orientated guys versus a HBK faction of more entertainment guys in NXT 2.0 has money written on it.

If Jake had a deal with WWE, it would have prevented him from appearing for AEW.

Good for Bret but I just hope they do something with him. If WWE paid him a lot of money just to not work AEW, that's a pretty stupid financial decision on their part. Bret isn't going to bring in any considerable money to AEW. So if you're not doing anything with Bret, it's unclear what the financial calculus is other than Vince just not wanting someone else to play with his toys.
