Sure, they might have been unbearable in their prime, but as they got older they mellowed and became more understandable, if not lovable.
Kevin Nash tops the list for me, as he's basically the cool woke dad of wrestling.
But, behind him, weirdly enough, is Scott Steiner. Scott himself says that Big Poppa Pump came about when he realized that wrestling was a work and he might as well embrace the insanity of it all. It's not to forgive some of his awfulness, but older, more chill Scott Steiner just seems like that uncle that you love but might have spent some time in prison.

I think Shawn Michaels has to be the best example of this.

Buff Bagwell's gotta be on this list. Dude's been incredibly chill in recent times.

X-Pac to the point where I think we should rename "X-Pac Heat" to something that doesn't dog on anyone specifically.

Minoru Suzuki used to have a bit of a reputation didn't he? Seems he spends more time showing off his socks on Instagram these days.

X-Pac may be the one member of the Kliq who never really had any major heat with anybody backstage in the New Gen era. Even the most ardent Kliq haters like Shane Douglas doesn't lump X-Pac in with the rest of them.

I know but I dunno it all seems like punching down on a guy for a very brief period where people found him annoying. It's also hard to explain the term to someone who never saw it. I prefer "Go Away Heat" or even "Change the Channel Heat" because they're more descriptive and not about picking on one guy for something that happened for like 4 to 6 months 20 years ago.

Tully Blanchard was a huge asshole back in the day, right? Now he just seems like a cool grandpa.

In addition to the ones already mentioned, I think Triple H could qualify.

Tully Blanchard was a huge asshole back in the day, right? Now he just seems like a cool grandpa. Well he seems to have passed it down to his daughter so maybe that’s why he’s a different person. Someone who as a massive fan of I’m delighted to say has changed is Randy Orton. What I like the most is that he’s open about how he was.

Taz. On one of the ECW docs someone said Taz was pretty miserable. And then he got married and calmed down a little.

Tully Blanchard was a huge asshole back in the day, right? Now he just seems like a cool grandpa. I got a picture with Tully, Animal, Lex and JJ at Starrcast 1. Didn't really have much interaction with Tully other than a quick hello and "can you please sign my NWA tag belt?" Tully happily obliged and signed it with a Bible scripture. Not what I expected at all from a man with his reputation. Even though I am well aware that he has been a pastor or preacher or something for about 30 years now.

I prefer "Go Away Heat" or even "Change the Channel Heat" because they're more descriptive and not about picking on one guy for something that happened for like 4 to 6 months 20 years ago. Again, is there any proof that fans changed the channel whenever he got on screen during his X-factor days, or was this just an opinion of some random smark who had this "non-kayfabe" hatred towards him and took a life of it's own? How is fans chanting "X-pac Sucks" any different from chanting "[insert any other heel] sucks?" If we want to go by numbers alone, it should be renamed "Corbin Heat" during his GM days where he was the focus of the entire show and ratings suffered accordingly. They even blamed him on screen for declining viewership. I can't determine if such a theoretical reaction by fans exist, but if it does, this is the closest to "go away heat." To add to this thread, just before he died, I remember hearing smarks on one of these forums say Ultimate Warrior mellowed out in his last few years and seemed really cool to meet.

JBL is now quite a fan of The Miz who he bullied in the past and talks him up in a "he proved me wrong" kind of way. I do wonder if he's apologized to The Miz and others he bullied privately. I do think there's a chance, he doesn't use SM much but when he does there're signs he has chilled.

Akira Maeda. A guy who had no issue starting fights with other wrestlers and was a massive dojo bully is now a prominent and respectful ambassador for both Puro and MMA in Japan.
