Noise wise they're probably equal but Backlash 2000 isn't tainted by a heel turn less than a week later so I'll go with that.
As a kid that match was the absolute peak for me. Rock and HHH was my favorite rivalry and they had an amazing match. When things are bleak and the heels are looking to screw Rock Austin shows up and kicks ass. HHH and the McMahon-Helmsley faction finally got what was coming to them and Rock finally won the title. Then Rock and Austin toast after the match and tease the Wrestlemania main event for the next year. Even as an adult over 20 years later I still think the last 5-10 minutes of that PPV is some of the greatest stuff in wrestling history.

I'd put the pop he got during the Mankind/Rock title match on Raw over the one he got fighting off The Alliance.

When they heard the pop for the old Stone Cold being back they should have immediately changed their minds about his heel turn at Invasion. I very strongly believe this is the biggest creative mistake they've ever made

I'd put the pop he got during the Mankind/Rock title match on Raw over the one he got fighting off The Alliance. This is always the one that comes to mind for me when I think of "The Austin Pop".
