The Gummi Bears / Gravity Falls thread, inspired me to think of this old / new comparison.
Two non Ducktales, Donald Duck and family centered cartoons. How do they compare, which one is better, they both have their critics. Most people they are below the quality of any of the Ducktales cartoons, which is fair.
But they are so different, one is slice of the life, the other is fantasy adventure. One has the nephews, the other has the nieces. They both very wacky.
When I break it down, I like Donald better in LOTTC than in Quack Pack, he is more likable on that show. I also like April, May, and June better than the Quack Pack version of Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
One thing I think we all can agree with, when is comes to Daisy, the Quack Pack is way better. She is hotter, and more importantly nicer and likable than her counter part from the other show.

This is likely bias because I saw the latter recently but LOTTC is a show I went out of my way to watch on crappy YouTube streams for how much I enjoyed the heck out of it and then ended up rewatching again when it hit Disney+. It's funny, charming and just felt like the best way to use the Cabralleros in this new era.
The fact it never got a second season still makes me shake my fist in the air. Grrr.

I wonder if it had something to do with DuckTales '1x using the characters? (that pesky "people would be confused by two versions" trope) But I chose LOT3C as well...it looked and felt like an 80s or 90s Disney Afternoon series.

Quack Pack had a lot of good, new ideas for the Duck Family franchise, but they executed them horrible. Three Caballeros was a pretty "play it safe" cartoon, but it was done very well.

I hadn't heard of LOTTC until seeing it on Disney+
I had no idea what I was getting into, and it was a blast!
Don't remember ever actually watching Quack Pack....but I highly recommend LOTTC.

Hot take: LOT3C is more of a spiritual successor to TDA cartoons than DuckTales '17. In the sense that it looks like something that would have aired in the block back in the day.

Yeah Legends of The Three Caralleros is awesome. The only weakness is the poor petrayl of Daisy. I love Jose and Panchedo, hot take this version is better than the DT 17 despite the more appropriate casting. April, May, and June are a great successor to Huey, Dewey, and Louie, though did have a more Gosalyn Mallard vibe to me. And even the villains are fun. I find it ironic that you have another Seinfeld playing a dim whited villain side kick (with Return of Jafar and Emperor's New Groove being the others to have that)

Legend of the Three Cabralleros.
One reason: Goblin Jail song.
Donald: "Why is everyone singing?!"
