I mean, the Network is still listing all the shows by number, and given that's the primary means through which the show was viewed, it might just be for the Blu-ray release.

FYI WM 16 was originally called WM2000 but according to the History of Wrestlemania book that came out in 2001 (the one with Trips on the cover), I think it said that by Feb, everything had been Y2Ked to death so they ended up calling it Wrestlemania and not WM16.

This is old news, WWE stopped officially numbering Wrestlemania ever since 30, when the following year had the infamous Play button icon in place of the number.

I really hate the logic that they won’t number Wrestlemanias anymore because “it sounds old”.
Like the Super Bowl is the biggest sporting event of the year. They are numbered, is calling something Super Bowl 56 sound old? It’s beyond dumb.

It's silly and arbitrary and will probably not last very long until Vince changes his mind, like a lot of WWE decisions. Having said that, I don't see it as a big deal. None of the other PPVs have ever had a number. Just Wrestlemania. I've always found that weird.

Everything starts blending together after 31… so years… numbers… it’s still a bunch of random shows where things happen. But I barely remember.

i don't like it either, but i'm more caught off the fact that other than Taker and maybe Reigns (the angle makes it hard to tell), everyone is way too happy on the cover. i honestly can't think of a wrestling poster where almost everyone is smiling. it looks weird
