He ain't facing Roman, it's very probable that WWE remembered they had him fail in 6 top title matches and nobody was buying him as having a hope in hell against Roman, after The Usos kicked him in the face.
So, what is next for The Artist? My money is on "Aimless drifting in the midcard till Boogs gets cleared".

My main man in wrestling had a lumberjack match with a solid talent a fortnight ago and I have no memory of this happening. I don't know if this is more damning of the current WWE, or my memory. (I recall the Cage Match!) |

They'll probably still drag him into a squash program to fill time for month vs Roman. Gotta fill the next 5 years of Roman's reign with something.

The guy should be a multi-time World Champion by now.
Yes, he was a 2-time NXT Champion, but since he left NXT, I feel like they had no clue what to do with him.
He should've defeated Jinder at SummerSlam in 2017. That didn't happen.
He should've defeated Styles at WrestleMania in 2018. That didn't happen.
It's frustrating. I keep watching his NJPW stuff, and the guy just oozed charisma and talent, and should be a top tier champion.
