Has anyone else checked out this show? The wrestling episodes are my favorite, partly because I’m a big wrestling fan but partly because the episodes are among the most entertaining.
Off the top of my head, they’ve covered Buck Zumhoff, Bob Sweetan, Dick Slater, Jeff Gaylord, Jimmy Snuka, Jake Roberts, Sunny, Lex Luger, Jerry Lawler, Brian Christopher, and Buff Bagwell.
The hosts are two professional comedians, and they don’t bag on wrestling itself. They both seem to be fans of ‘80s-‘90s wrestling at least, and often draw parallels between wrestling and comedy.
If you haven’t heard it yet, I say at least check out the wrestling episodes.

The patreon stuff is awesome too. Less about crime but they do wrestling episodes. Worst gimmicks and plane ride from hell were really entertaining

KAMALARAMBO: BOOMSHAKALAKA!!! brought it up a while back along with Smalltown Murder Both are really funny while also being able to tackle subject matter very seriously The running joke of Vince getting hot and bothered about a man in overalls and no shirt is always funny when it comes up

I actually proposed to my fiancée after a live Small Town Murder show 😁
I know they’ve been promoting a Fabulous Moolah episode for the Patreon lately. I’m thinking of signing up for that, and I have no doubt I’d dig a lot of the other content too.
I know they have said there will be a Kurt Angle episode at some point. I’m trying to think of who else they could get an episode out of. Someone suggested Iron Sheik, but one of the hosts pointed out that aside from the turnpike incident with Duggan, Sheik actually hasn’t been arrested much.
Maybe they could get some shorter Patreon content out of the Patera-Saito McDonald’s incident.

I haven’t listened to it in a couple of years, but it was very entertaining and informative when I listened.
I may get back into it after seeing this thread, so thank you.

I'm always looking for new podcasts and this sounds very interesting. Thanks for suggesting!

So I went for a hike today and after reading this thread thought it sounded interesting so I put on their Scott Hall podcast.
It was a good listen. There were a few obvious gaps in knowledge about the pro wrestling scene, especially post 2000 or so which is always there when you have non-wrestling specific podcasts talking about that period (like assuming Hall worked in TNA continuously from 2002-5, the general feel of the scene when Hogan came into TNA and a few other things).
The guy presenting was excellent. His chum was somewhat grating. There were a few things though that gave me pause. Them not really understanding how killing someone in self-defence would give you PTSD or a guilty conscience was weird frankly. Also agreeing that a joke about Owen Hart's death was a good joke when it was merely fine was also weird.
Might look for some of their other stuff, the AWA poo guy doesn't seem to be on their podcast feed with my app but I will track that one down at some point.

I mean after what he did he’s certainly a piece of poo. Anyway, if that’s the one you couldn’t find its episode 74. I know with some podcast apps some older episodes aren’t included for whatever reason, but all of the regular Crime in Sports series is available on Spotify and probably some other places. The wrestling episodes tend to be top notch stuff. Even the odd deep cut guy that a lot of fans wouldn’t remember like Jeff Gaylord make for a good episode. I’d encourage folks to check out the non-wrestling episodes too. There are some crazy episodes involving athletes of sports I’d otherwise have zero interest in. James and Jimmy are just that good!

Well, possibly an urban legend. It gets better. Supposedly the Rock N’ Roll express walked in, in the middle of the act. One threw up and left while the other stayed and watched. Although according to a certain tennis racket wielding manager we can’t talk about, if it happened they probably both stayed and watched. Anyway, there’s no Crime in Sports episode on Jimmy Valiant. Heck depending on the state it wouldn’t even technically be illegal

I love this podcast, and the Small Town Murder one too. I always like hearing their takes on the few Australian sports criminals they’ve done, like Ben “Smuggled cocaine up the back passage” Cousins. I know they have said there will be a Kurt Angle episode at some point. They did that one about a year and a half ago.

Crime in sports and small town murder are my top two podcasts that I listen to. They've also done Kerry von erich, Jerry Lawler, sunny (including a couple of updates on her) Chris Adams among others.
I highly recommend both shows and their live shows if they come to your town.

I’m intrigued by this, I just looked at them on Apple podcasts and a recent episode is about Bobby Hull. I need to listen to that. Bobby Hull used to live down the street from my parents, nicest dude ever but he is apparently a total monster behind closed doors. He had a golf membership, and used that to just sit and drink wine from 10am until close at the clubhouse. He’s got some issues

I love their football episodes as well.
