I felt like WWE's PPVs were usually pretty strong up until Summerslam last year. To be fair, that show might've been good but all I remember was the Bianca and Becky match putting a bad taste in my mouth. Then we had Survivor Series, which was a stinker, and then Day 1 I can't even remember aside from the Liv and Becky match. Royal Rumble also sucked, especially the men's rumble which was one of the worst ever.
Things picked up again with EC and WrestleMania. Pretty much everyone thought WM was gonna be a disaster but it turned out to be a lot of fun. And now Backlash turned out to be a really good show, too.
So hopefully the PPVs (and whatever they're called now) continue to be a blast, at least.

My main issue with WWE the last few years has been some of the worst booking decisions ever, despite having possibly the most talented group of wrestlers in their history. Last night was going well and then we got the main event result that did no one any favours. So the same issue is still there.

Honestly, no. I do think they've made significant improvements, but a lot of the usual issues are still there. Doesn't mean they can't continue to improve, but this is around the time of year they can be expected to have some of their best material. If any quality is still around in a few months, maybe it'll be time to get hopeful.

No
Like, not even f***ing close. A good PPV here and there does not fix the outstanding issues they have and continue to have on all levels of their company on and off camera, both with the wrestlers and in how they run their business. It's an absolute mess, and that isn't changing, they've actively done things to make it worse too, including their new talent initiatives and cutting methods.

Well, I've not watched regularly in years, but unless:
1. They've stopped depending on part-timers and past their prime legends to pop numbers
2. The infatuation with Roman has been cooled and they let him be a human character
3. Issues with building new stars (especially believable babyfaces that don't have to go prove themselves for the competition, first)
have been addressed, then probably not.
In the end, it doesn't matter, though. They make money. They will continue to make money as long as they make money for themselves and whatever network carries them.

They've always been capable of producing good shows in isolation. Hell they can even put on months of them at a time. However unless long standing issues are addressed it won't last.

Since they had the mass releases I feel like shows have been more focused.

Actually, yeah. I’ve been enjoying things since WM. Cody, RKBro, some of the women stuff, Ezekiel, KO. Sami’s consistent too but he’s on SD so..hahaha.
TBH there’s a lot of good sprinkled about but that Roman shit (I know it’s “successful”) is such a grim cloud over things.

I've been watching on and off again the past year or so, and I've been having lots of fun.
I enjoy 2022 WWE way more than anything from like 2017 to the start of the Pandemic. That was when I really just didn't care.
I know people are understandably burnt out on Roman, but I still enjoy him. Plus I love RK-BRO, Sasha, Becky, Seth, the Usos, etc. Plus Wrestlemania this year went down as one of my all time favorites.
I haven't been able to watch Backlash yet, but I'm excited to hear that lots of people enjoyed it.

Can they put on individual shows that are fun to watch? Yes. But until they start pushing anyone in the same realm as Roman’s level in the main event, they won’t have turned the corner.

The PPVs are more often than not good and the quality of wrestling is strong. It’s the week-to-week that is rough.

Oh, I was mostly talking about the PPVs, lol (or whatever the f*** they're calling them now). The PLEs are mostly pretty decent, they just need to get better at making people excited for them.

Yes, WWE is way better than 2017 - 2019. That was some terrible shit. Honestly, I've been enjoying it a lot since MITB 2021. Really only one booking decision I truly hated that wasn't followed up on with good booking and that was Finn vs Roman.
Otherwise, I've been enjoying the PLE & Raw. The Smackdown has been hit or miss.

Both nights of Mania and Backlash were surprisingly good, which at least proves that watching WWE can be an enjoyable experience.
That said, TV still seems like total ass to watch, and it's so backwards that WWE is best watched when consuming as little of the weekly product as possible.

It would seem so, but they are trying to make sure that they don't really turn it.
1. The main person who has killed the entire roster is apparently going on a summer hiatus, but they continue to show no vulnerability with him. It will be Brock as champion 2.0 starring Roman Reigns
2. They invest tons of time and emotion into vignettes showing a true vulnerable side of Lacey Evans and then decide she's better off as a heel on a different show.
3. NXT call ups continue to get the jabroni treatment if any treatment at all.
4. Inexplicable bait and switches. Tag unification match changed to a six man just to have the losers of the six man demand another tag unification match.

PLEs are basically high quality wrestling stitched together with world class video packages. An outright bad or boring WWE PPV is a rare thing (IMO at least).

funny enough ,I don't watch ppvs and rarely watch reviews too but since YouTube suggested the Backslash review from wrestling with wreget I played it in the background.
he basically said what many said here that for ppv the in ring action has been amazing but story are lacking
