It's really weird to me that WWE was way quicker to get the message that Seth and Becky don't click together and that wasn't even going nearly as bad as the Sammy and Tay thing, it was just kind of awkward. That’s the odd thing. For as much as pairing Rollins and Lynch on screen didn’t click, there’s so many other elements to that to take into account, like WWE’s over-scripting and over-production, the fact that they didn’t really do that much together when they were paired up and that it was over rather quickly, literally one PPV cycle. I recall like one backstage promo, a match on RAW against the Kanellises (Kanelli?) and then the PPV match with Corbin and Evans. And this was at a time when an online backlash was starting against Rollins anyway because of “MOXLEY TUK ERR FOOD” and the back and forth with Will Ospreay, but even that had yet to hit the live crowds. On the other hand, the backlash against Guevara and Conti happened almost instantly in comparison. How long has this feud been going on, anyway?

I want to say either right before Cody left or right after. So 4 months. The original plan was Cody vs ATT. This is just starting to feel like Darby vs Team Taz, but worse

There's something to be said for not just yanking the cord on a story and trying to give it an organic end, but I mean, that by all rights should have been the goddamn ladder match.

Or even just called it when Scorpio won the belt in the first place. For a belt where a ton of former champions didn't get their rematch anywhere close to win they lost it for some reason these two are doing a Charlotte vs. Sasha thing where they just have an endless rematch clause.

Emi and Nyla take on Yuka and Anna Jay. Anna is #3 in the rankings, and she has not been on TV in months. Are they gonna do something with her soon? No.

So weird seeing them being so stubborn with this Guevara/Conti v Men Of The Year/Lambert thing. It just reads like something that people weren’t expecting to happen in AEW. People just want to boo Sammy Guevara, and while I know Lambert is a natural heel, this is a case where you have to call the audible and go with it. I feel like between this and the Julia Hart story, the insistence on staying the course should be commended but at the same time questioned. Being devoted to a long term story as opposed to opting out for instant gratification is rare nowadays yet if people just don't buy into the tale, is it worth being stubborn?

Page confronts Sky after the match and asks him what team he's on. Sky then takes out Kaz and they reveal it was the plan all along. Sammy and Tay then come out to make the save. They're booed heavily.

“Staying the course” is admirable in some respects. But stubbornly barreling ahead with a story that already is not especially popular. And throwing in a bunch of bizarre “twists” that are arguably doing more harm than good, is a Vince move.

Yeah that's a baffling decision, wow. Really have no idea where TK is going with all this and I'm kinda at the point where I don't care, either. Just get the TNT Title outta this goddamn mess - put it back on Miro or something, shit.

You have a great midcard full of guys who could be fighting over that belt. Why it needs wrapped up in this mess is beyond me?
