It's been brewing for a few weeks (well very slowly as most of AEW is in that holding mode story wise the last few months but I DIGRESS....) but it seems like the Christian turning heel vs. Jungle Boy feud is finally imminent. The camera work tonight was especially good as Christian slowly approached Jungle Boy looking despondent after his latest singles loss was *chef's kiss* It echoed the Hangman/Omega moment as people mentioned in the live thread, which was one of my fav AEW moments like. Ever. For all the intrigue that brought so I hope this has a similar epic feud ahead of it. I'm intrigued to see where Luchasaurus will fit in here, what the tag title situation will be going forward with this, and what Christian's heel pals will be or if he's just gonna be alone for a while.

This shit is awesome, and Christian's turn has been a slow burn and the crowds are really catching to it
When it happens and we go full bore into this feud it's gonna be so good... I can't wait to see Christian be a sadistic bastard again

Generally prefer Christian as a face than a heel, but he is pretty great at both and he's pretty aimless as it is so as long as he doesn't start obsessively color-coding everything purple this should be fun.

I really thought it was coming tonight. Perhaps the drop the belts at DoN then it comes?

Same, I think he's way better in ring as a face than heel (it doesn't help that he was last heel in WWE's "we really really like boring heels" era and his whole gimmick was wanting one more match and losing everything) but I'm glad he'll at least have an angle to do outside of the very little things he's had to do since Full Gear.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense for Christian to drop Jungle Boy when he still has something that makes him useful to Christian, but Christian definitely knows he lost out on having the Owen Hart tournament winner and FTW champion in his group. Once JB has nothing, that's when the turn happens, and I'm guessing DoN when they lose the titles to either Team Taz or Swerve and Keith Lee.

I dont think Christian is going to turn heel. I think Jungle Boy is going to be need help being made a man, and Christian is going to help him do it by giving him a whoopin'. That's why he's lost some big matches lately.

Really? I respect your opinion, nothing wrong with it, but as a long-time Christian fan, I've definitely always seen his natural role being that of a heel. He's great and all, but has always, to me, felt out of place as a babyface. In TNA, his heel run was some great stuff, and it's very underrated because it was in TNA. I think some type of grizzled, bitter heel would be a great role for Christian.

Christian as Mr. TNA is one of my favorite runs. Again, no one likes TNA, so it goes underappreciated. Now, even as a fan, I will admit Christian was never the big star I would have liked him to be, and never really a needle mover, but as for pure personal entertainment, I really dug that whole run.

The company has had its ups and downs over the years, although it was really due to Dixie and past management (Jarrett, Russo, etc.). The talent itself was never the problem.

Yea, 2010 was one of the biggest tragedies in wrestling. I could go on and on about it, but this is the AEW board, hah. So sorry for offtopic.

Right I think Christian is definitely a great babyface but he is probably one of the biggest dickheads in wrestling history as a heel

As someone who has been complaining about how slow this story is moving…
Finally.
It’ll happen at or after DoN.

I dont think Christian is going to turn heel. I think Jungle Boy is going to be need help being made a man, and Christian is going to help him do it by giving him a whoopin'. That's why he's lost some big matches lately. I mentioned it a while ago, but I don’t want Christian to just do the standard “mentor turns on protege” story. They should make him like Zoom and The Flash where Christian starts tormenting Jungle Boy in a twisted attempt to make him a better wrestler.

But for JB’s weak mic skills and his aversion to promos, a case could be made where he turns heel and uses Luchasarus as his muscle. I don’t think that’s where they’re going, or should go, but it’s an option.

I love Christian no matter what he is, but he's always done his best character work as a heel. I'm really looking foreard to the run he'll have here.
