As of now, no. But a lot can change in 18 months or so.

youtu.be/Qrf9Ukuw2msThis interview with Barstool, while in character, is interesting. MJF literally says he “hates his f***ing boss.” He’s working for most of this interview (which is very funny) but that’s an odd line to say regardless of kayfabe. EDIT - Watching more: he also talks about how insane all the money ex WWE guys are being paid, how he is established enough where he doesn’t have to deal with the bad WWE booking others do “when” he goes.

I never thought Cody was leaving until he was gone, so I've learned my lesson about acting definitive on anything.
That being said, Tony Khan is the stupidest motherf***er ever, even beyond Dixie, if he's letting MJF even hint about it without a deal being signed or something in place.

Here's the thing. WWE bringing in Cody Rhodes as the full on American Nightmare is a good idea in the short-term as he has injected palpable excitement in a product pretty damn devoid of it. It is a REALLY GOOD idea in the long-term if they are thinking about nabbing some of AEW's homegrown stars, especially MJF.
Much like Cody Rhodes, MJF either owns everything about the character, or nobody in the wrestling business owns. MJF's real name is Maxwell Friedman, with the J being the only kayfabe bit, and I bet he owns that name and not AEW. The theme song was also commissioned by MJF and is owned by MJF, and was used in multiple wrestling companies before AEW, ranging from CZW, GCW, MLW, and All In. Neither MJF or AEW owns the rights to the Burberry scarf, but they seem to have no problem using the design on TV or on merchandise, so there's nothing stopping WWE from doing the same.
The exact same conditions that allowed Cody to be the same character jumping ship from AEW to WWE apply to MJF as well. So, either way, Maxwell Friedman is in a very good position in two years if WWE wants to poach one of AEW's most coveted talents.

If he does leave AEW for WWE, would Miz be one of his first feuds?

Despite his character, I'm not sure that's his priority at all. He's a lifelong wrestling fan. Then WWE would be the last place you'd ever go. Thank you. Exactly the point I was trying to make.

I don't think it's impossible he goes to WWE someday, or any number of other AEW people, but I do not think it's especially likely. He has considerably more freedom in AEW, and that is something that I don't think he takes lightly.

To be honest I'm kind of hoping. I could see it going either way, hard to say how things will look by then, but I do feel like the change of scenery would benefit him in the long run; even if a WWE run ends up going poorly could easily see him learning things from it and getting that post-WWE prove them wrong fire to reinvigorate him.

I hope he does, in the same way I hope some other guys and girls do too, and that some more of the main roster WWE talent leave for AEW.
Wrestling was at it's most exciting when people could just 'show up' across two major brands.
Although we'd never get that now due to the internet and corporate culture being very different, it would still be exciting enough.

Don't be mad at MJF for treating wrestling as a business. He sees the ex-WWE guys coming into AEW making more money than him. Since he knows his market value has grown since coming in, pushing for a huge pay raise or a better contract somewhere else.

So is this gonna be a constant two year drama? Unless he wants his release, he’s not going anywhere for a while. So I don’t know if it’s worth looking to the future when it’s still very far away. Of course I hope they figure it out because he’s great and losing MJF would be a much worse move than losing Cody.

Regardless if he leaves or not, they should build that as a story. Great payoff either way.

When he loses to Wardlow, when he wins the World Title, when he loses the World Title, when hes off TV for two weeks. Next Long Island show. When Cody wins the world title.

He's be dumb to not entertain all offers and accept the biggest bag possible
The man is smart and knows the business. Wherever he goes he will bring his A game but this will be more so a discussion point this time next year or closer to the Fall
Worst thing TK can do is get in his bag about MJF

I think MJF is one of the few guys where Tony Khan will try to match any offer WWE makes (even if that means its an insane amount of money). The guy is way too important to the future of the company and if you're going to go "all in" on anyone, it would certainly be him

I for one think he’d be used even better in WWE. Just hope he keeps his name.

And I agree Tony might break the bank so to speak to keep him. Maybe Moxley/Punk money.

I would love to see him in WWE, I'm one of the few who thinks he would be used better in WWE, Not that AEW is using him badly, not at all. Only problem I have with how AEW is using him is almost every feud he has is the same. Go through an army of guys until you get to face me. Gets old when you use it for almost of all his feuds and seems like lazy booking.
