He was in three of them during his time, which one did you like best?
The New Breed: Burke, Cor Von, Thorn, Striker and Punk
Straight Edge Society: Serena, Gallows, Mercury and Punk
New Nexus: Otunga, McGillicutty, Harris, Slater, Gabriel, Ryan and Punk.
Where did he do his best work as leader of a group?

Easy one personally. Straight Edge Society. New Nexus was pretty lame imo it just wasn't the same without Barrett in the Nexus.

Choosing the best CM Punk stable is like choosing the best Allen Gregory episode. They all sucked.

Straight Edge Society by default.
I barely remember The New Breed doing anything of significance...and didn't Punk essentially turn on them within like a week or two? And was he even the leader?
The New Nexus was just...just awful. It ran completely against the idea of what I always thought Nexus should be, rather instead it just became a generic "evil stable" intent to just take down John Cena and Randy Orton or whatever.
The Straight Edge Society was okay. It wasn't great. And that isn't because of anything involving Punk or his followers, they played their roles very well. However, they almost always lost their feuds, looked like buffoons against well established stars and were around for far too short of a time to really make a bigger impact than they did.

I didn't vote because neither of them were that good and I never saw Punk as the type of guy who be in a stable.

Since we're discussing it, this was one of my favorite moments that probably wasn't pre-scripted. Serena was talking about Punk and she said something about looking into his eyes, and the camera cut to this creepy shot of Punk giving the suggestive eyes. It was great.

SES. I liked the mask he wore after he got his head shaved.
New Breed was fun, I actually rather liked them, but Punk's tenure was obviously as a poison pill, so it'd be hard to really count it here in the same way.
New Nexus was unfortunately booked really badly, like if Legacy had never advanced past that time where the membership was changing on a practically weekly basis.

Punk wasn't really in the New Breed the whole point was that he was openly there to be betray them.
I never liked the SES they never really got to do anything or any kind of momentum.
The Punk mask was kinda neat at the time... but... eh.
New Nexus was also pretty much a non entity... it was them trying to squeeze the last bit of relevance they could out of the Nexus branding and there really wasn't anything there... ESPECIALLY since Otunga was the ONLY member of the Nexus in the New Nexus officially.

Michael Hayes was head of Smackdown creative at the time. He basically flat out said on the CM Punk DVD that he didn't like the Straight Edge Society as a concept or Punk as a performer, so he wrote them to be a bunch of losers.

Never forget that The New Nexus broke up because all of it's remaining members just stopped giving a crap.

SES pretty much launched Punk's WWE Career.
Which is f***ed up when you consider he cashed the MITB twice before it.

SES on account of they had some good stuff like Punk in the 2010 Rumble and the segment with Rey's kids. New Nexus didn't really have any redeeming qualities and he was in the New Breed for a week or two. It's always weird when I rewatch MITB 2011 and Punk is wearing his New Nexus shirt. I always forget they were still a thing by that point. SES pretty much launched Punk's WWE Career. Which is f***ed up when you consider he cashed the MITB twice before it. He was beaten over and over again by Mysterio and Big Show though. In fact I'm pretty sure he lost almost every PPV match in 2010-11 before the pipebomb. I definitely wouldn't say SES launched his career. The biggest stuff he did was a good while before (Hardy) and after (Cena). After SES he was toiling away for a while not doing a lot.

As the MITB showed, its less about victory and more about the character The SES character was acclaimed and f***ing over and it was the SES Gimmick that led to the Hardy Feud.Which was his first notable feud but not his jumping point. His career was pretty much an upwards trajectory after the SES and I think that is mostly due to the amazing work he put.

Straight Edge Society but it's basically just the least bad of them.
