I look at it like this Hackett did well enough as the OC with the Packers so maybe he's just a good OC terrible HC. Not the first nor will it be the last time that's the case. But it also comes down to the Jets job isn't that appealing. Woody Johnson is a bad owner and let's the NY sports pages get to him, so Saleh if he misses the playoffs again in 2023 will most likely be fired. So this leads to why would any promising OC want to hitch their wagon to a staff that might not be around in 2 years. |

Having a guy like Aaron Rodgers at QB makes it a lot easier to offensively coordinate. So in addition to all of the things that you mentioned with the Jets QB situation uncertain I think that Hackett would be wise to sit out a season or look elsewhere. If he goes to the Jets with some rando at QB he runs the risk of torpedoing any future chances to OC. (Probably not because the NFL recycles every coach but you know what I mean) |

So far, here are the candidates they have either interviewed or are going to interview:
- Adrian Klemm (University of Oregon associate head coach)
- Keenan McCardell (Vikings wide receivers coach)
- Nick Caley (Patriots tight ends coach)
- Shawn Jefferson (Cardinals wide receivers coach)
- Bill O'Brien (University of Alabama offensive coordinator)
