Honestly I think AEW's pretty poor in general at treating their titles like big deals. As much as they promoted, "Every title can main event, this is a place where women and tag teams are equal to the men's single stars," in the leadup to the company launching and as much as they pushed the idea that the TNT and TBS belts aren't midcard belts, you absolutely never see the women's or tag titles main-eventing PPVs or being treated like crown jewel, face of the company belts like the men's World title is, and the TNT title has spent most of its existence being just kind of an aimless clusterf*** while the TBS title basically only exists as a Jade Cargill vanity belt to make her shitty squash matches look mildly important. It kind of feels like titles in AEW only exist because they _have_ to. Importance seems more tied to whose orbit you're in (and even that can backfire if people get tired of an orbital figure). You had the Elite and (formerly) Cody (who was also former Elite) on the Men's side. You've got Britt and Jade on the women's side. And if you're not directly involved with those orbital figures, you're presented like you don't matter.

I don't entirely agree with this stance at all, yes those are definitely features of the divisions and staples of the company, they definitely are easy to write around, but there have been plenty of feuds out of those peoples orbits that have been given plenty of time to grow and develop in AEW, far as I've seen. The women need more of it, but they had been thankfully getting it, just needs to continue.

It's all perspective, but I do think a lot of AEW storylines have had some sort of weight to them, a lot of them feeling like a big deal when the time comes for the climax.

Top 3 in rankings
Nyla DMD Serena
She’s beaten all of those ladies. Next two up - Toni Storm & Kris Statlander.
Stat seems booked with Jade & baddies - Storm has unfinished business with DMD and co.
I suspect Rosa’s next challenger will be underwhelming

And if you're not directly involved with those orbital figures, you're presented like you don't matter. That seems unnecessarily reductive. Miro was a focal point of programming for a good chunk of last year. So was Darby. At the moment, FTR are a big deal. MJF always has been. Jericho's not Elite but always important, and so was Sammy until the botched TNT title feud (and he may yet be again). There's clusters of people that are important but that's a) pretty much universal, and b) a natural consequence of people pitching their own booking since it's going to lead to their friends also getting spotlight time.

Rosa got a world title match tonight, won, and teased a world title match with Toni Storm

The match was two packs of ass tonight but I like Thunder Rosa as a fighting champion and it could help her get more tv time.

Seems like very weird trajectory going Toni losing to Britt -> Toni getting beaten down by Britt -> Toni getting a title shot.

As people have already touched on, I believe win she won it she was dealing with an injury which derailed any initial momentum of Rosa finally dethroning Baker.
Also, I think AEW has a serious problem when it comes to following up the chase for a championship, for the most part they do a stellar job with the chase (although, it could be argued the waited a bit too long to pull the trigger on Thunder Rosa), but it seems like never have a plan for what happens after chase is over.
They had the same problem with Adam Page, I mean... I know Bryan Danielson was waiting int he wings for the Hangman after he won the championship, but after that it never felt like his title reign came close to as successful as his chase for it, and he was more-or-less an afterthought.
That feels like the same problem with Thunder Rosa, it feels like her chasing the title meant more than her winning it and now, she's kind of becoming an afterthought, and a champion of a division should never be thought of as an afterthought.

Well, she wasn't an afterthought this week, putting aside all arguing about what she was up to now. She got a match and set up her next feud, while Britt didn't even appear.
(I'm not disagreeing that Tony books the chase for faces better than the aftermath, though.)

Tonight was a good step in the right direction. Had a fun hard hitting match and sets up a challenger who has never been fairly beaten in AEW.

Well good news, and bad news.
Bad news is, Rosa could not get a good TV match out of Marina either.
Good news is teasing her vs. Toni Storm sounds cool.

I thought the match was good. Not spectacular but it wasn't really the intention either.
