Today I saw a Facebook post pointing out that the last time Bobby appeared as a manager was seconding CM Punk at a ROH show.
In the comments, someone said they attended the show, and at the meet and greet asked Bobby what he was doing on the show that night. He said that Bobby replied, “I’m managing that guy,” pointing towards Punk, “He’s going to be a big star.”
I know that I have been critical of Punk in some ways, but there is no denying that he did become a big star.
All told, I think that’s a pretty good note for Bobby to go out on as a manager.
He always spoke well of ROH in interviews, and I think if his health had held up, he would have continued to appear with the company.

Bobby Heenan's later life has been nothing short of tragic.
Seeing what he went through and the condition he was in was just tough to see.
I could see him managing even now if it wasn't for his health issues.

Bobby Heenan had his voice and later his life taken away right before the era of podcasts, one of the shittier ironies in this entire business.

There are podcasts that I love and want to spend the extra on, but haven’t even though it’s cheap. In Bobby’s case, I would have been all in from day one.

I did not know that he had managed Punk before. That's really cool.
Yeah, like you, I have been critical of Punk on some things, some of which are personal and not my story to tell, but he's definitely going to go down as one of the biggest stars of his generation.

He was going to so more ROH, including a prolonged feud with Jim Cornette, more than what he got, but the Rob Feinstein thing made him wash his hands of the company.

I’m glad he got a WWE hall of fame send off. I’m also really annoyed that some took joy(f***ing joy!!!)in him getting cancer, the main one being that sorry excuse for a sack of shit the ultimate warrior. Sorry I’m a big fan of heenan and his commentary was a big part of my life.

He did a couple of appearances, once he managed Colt Cabana & Jimmy Jacobs against Roderick Strong & Jack Evans at a ROH show here in NJ in December 2004 with Cornette on the opposing team. Even with his health issues, he still managed to get the crowd going and keep them entertained.

I was a HUGE Warrior fan growing up, but there is no denying that the man was a massive piece of shit and an intolerant bigot. It's neat that he seemed to mend some fences in literally his last days, but it does not make up for being an absolute f***stick for the other 99.9% of his life.

He was actually doing appearances after all the Feinstein stuff, he hadn't worked with them before it. As I actually recall it, he stepped away because he thought there was an over-usage of profanity, thinking that if you needed to say "f***" in a promo then it meant you needed it as a crutch to make what you were saying feel important. Not sure if that was the actual reason, just remember reading it years and years ago.

Mostly basing this on half remembered memory, but the Throh the years podcast talk about it a lot and cite Feinstein for the reason Heenan didn't come back.
