Looks really good, that ending shot with the Lipstick smile was incredibly well done
It's hard to follow up such an insane film let alone with the apparent baggage a musical might bring but man does this look f***ing good off the trailer
Definitely excited to see it

Honestly just looks like pretentious twaddle to me. Still probably going to do gangbusters at the box office as long as they didn't get silly with the budget.

Depends on whether or not they make 500 million. I imagine that won't be difficult. It's not for me, but can't deny the massive hype for this movie.

I haven't read much of the comics so I can't judge those, but it seems like few (if any) of the media adaptations have gotten the Joker/Harley dynamic right since Mark Hamill and Arleen Sorkin played them.

It's because Harley got so popular that fans and creatives wanted to see how she fared when broken away from Joker...and it worked, the dynamic with her OTHER other half Poison Ivy also became very popular among straight and LGBQT communities alike and most media are more comfortable with that relationship than they are with Harley/Joker since the optics are better, it's not controlling/abusive and both girls are allowed to express themselves more freely and have fun being wicked. I think Mad Love should have been the finale to the Joker/Harley relationship in the DCAU. You can just lop off the ending (which reset the status quo) and it'd work fine. That, or do as I do and pretend "Harley's Holiday" is the ending of TAS since it sets up a Harley/Bruce relationship at the end.

Harley is a considerably better character away from Joker, and her relationship with Ivy is one of the most charming things in comics.

Normally I would've lead off with a "Yeah," to show I was in agreement but for whatever reason I didn't on that one. I probably didn't need to be snarky in my response, tone doesn't always translate through text haha

IMO thats because every Joker has to be some monstrous psycho now who should be incapable of any actual affection or love. So then it becomes a complete abusive relationship. Compare that to TAS Joker who was nuts but human. He may have still been abusive but he did have actual feelings for Harley.

And as thechase said that should have been the endgame for Harley and Joker as far as TAS goes. Still makes more sense than comics Joker who is so far gone these days that he isnt even human.
