I thought 2022 was just boring, the 2015 match had a glimmer of hope that Bryan might win even if it was for a few minutes.

How is 2022 winning by so much? It wasn't that bad. The ending with Brock was stupid but up until that it was ok. Nothing super interesting but not anything that wanted to make me pull my hair out. 2015 is like the worst booked wrestling match ever. The only two guys of the thirty in the match that came off looking better then they did coming in were the two guys who needed to the least: Kane and Big Show. Recent bias is strong though I guess. See, the thing that makes it not the worst booked match ever was that the first, say, 10 entries or so were fun. DDP came back, Bray and Boogeyman had a fun confrontation, Bubba returns to Philly (even though that involved racism for some reason?), just a bunch of fun moments. The moment Bryan got eliminated, though? Never has a match fallen apart so quickly and so vindictively to its audience. Mostly it depends if you think "really boring" or "actively bad" is the worse sin for a wrestling match. I never saw 2022 so I can't fairly vote, but 2015 started off fine, then Local Men ruining everything and Bryan's elimination just killed it.

Me personally, if it were boring, I’d have forgotten about it. Heck, if it was bad, it’d be forgettable. A lot of Rumbles fall under those categories more than good ones. The 2015 Royal Rumble was a middle finger to its audience in almost every choice it made and, as someone whose watched a lot of wrestling since 2001, I genuinely haven’t seen a match like it before or since.

2015... by miles.
2022 was relatively fine until Brock came out and won...
2015 was literally the WWE going full on YOU WILL ONLY CARE ABOUT ROMAN! by systematically throwing out everyone the crowd cared about and basically leaving Roman alone.
and then the big ending was Kane and Big Show argue a bit and Roman flukey wins...
No storylines came out of 2015.
Sami Zayn vs. Johnny Knoxville started in the rumble, Drew tossed Corbin and Moss in the rumble, both of those led to a Wrestlemania match.
2015 had nothing like that.
2022 up until Brock came out at 30... the field seemed like it was wide open for literally anyone could win it... 2015 it was obvious from before the show started Roman was winning.

The moment Bryan got eliminated, though? Never has a match fallen apart so quickly and so vindictively to its audience. Ok but that's only a third of the match. And imo I didn't think that portion was that good either. It was mainly just Bray running train where he would toss guys one by one. Compared to other instances of that in other Rumbles I don't think it's really not that remembered either. People remember Diesel in 94, or Austin in 97, or Punk in 2010. I don't think many remember that Bray run or think back that fondly on it. A lot of the reason for that is it didn't lead to anything in the match. Diesel everyone had to gang up on him, Austin ended up winning, and Punk got tossed by HHH a high level face. Bray just lingered around in the match until eventually getting tossed by Kane and Big Show like everyone else. They couldn't at least have a over face like Ambrose toss him to effectively pay off his run. Also in the midst of that 1-10 stretch they completely wasted Luke Harper who could've contributed a lot more. IDK I think this is just recent bias rearing it's ugly head. Where 2022 is fresh in people's mad and everyone thinks it's worse then it actually was and as a result are defending a match in 2015 that shouldn't be defended in any way as there did literally nothing right in it.

Yeah 2015 was very much the company telling the audience WE KNOW WHAT YOU WANT BETTER THAN YOU DO! Dean, Ryback, Bryan, f***ing Dolph Ziggler... the crowd were over as hell when they came out and were hyped only for them all to get dumped unceremoniously.

One of the biggest pops of the night was for Damien Goddamn Sandow. People were f***ing hungry for something cool for him to do, especially with how over Mizdow was. He runs into the ring, hits some shot and is immediately dumped out. Like...what was the point? I've ranted about this Rumble so much, if you know my post history I have, it's just...there genuinely hasn't been anything like it. And even worse, they went back to Philly for the Rumble 3 years later and had one of the best Rumble matches ever which makes 2015 even more mindboggling.

Ziggler was the worst maybe even more then Bryan. With all the momentum he had coming off the Survivor Series main event win and they have him come in at #30 and get punched out by Big Show and tossed like a sack of s**t in two minutes. That was the biggest FU in that it made absolutely no sense with the trajectory he was on or how his character was presented at the time. It was just super blantant in screw you we don't care what you like. That's where I just completely gave up as it was obvious then that Reigns was winning. And that's the thing Reigns winning wasn't the bad part. It's how they got there.

(even though that involved racism for some reason?) ![](https://c.tenor.com/xZpOcv_oevAAAAAC/what-huh.gif) It wasn’t a massive case but having R-Truth just replace D-Von in the team…isn’t a great look?

2015 made be angry, but 2022 felt very melancholy even before Lesnar entered. Idk what's worse

2015 was pretty fun until Bryan got eliminated, and then it became probably one of the worst matches I've ever seen in the combo of pure vitriol from the audience/boring as hell in ring work/the least interesting domination in Rumble history.
2022 was just stuck in neutral from the beginning and never really had anything at all that got anyone going. Though at least it ended quick once Brock came in, so I'll give it that advantage.

Didn't watch the 2022 ones, though I want to throw a shout out to the 2020 men's one also being absolutely awful. I think I'd legit rather watch 2015 than it.
