Honestly considering the s*** that Vince has done over the years even just our the stuff we know about I’m kinda surprised that anyone is even batting an eye on this stuff This stuff is sleazy as hell but he’s done much much worse in the past Yeah it's a bit surprising that everyone is acting shocked everywhere...Absolute abuse of power...Maybe even quid pro quo but there has been so much worse stuff in this industry that I am shocked this is the one that Vince is catching so much for. |

It's the fact that this is being investigated and reported on in the mainstream. That's the real surprise. Vince and Laurinaitis being pigs has been a long-held expectation, but usually it never sees anything beyond internet whispers. |

Although I think it's probably fair to say that a scandal can really blow up if it's about a certain subject that's very sensitive/highly reported when the thing happens. So if the timing is right (or wrong, if you're the accused) then it can get a whole lot worse for you just because of the cultural opinions and awareness of that particular issue. |

Yep , I briefly mentioned it earlier but someone absoloutley knew what they were doing when this news broke through the wallstreet journal and not a random wrestling dirtsheet. They made sure this would immediately gain alot more traction and eyes than if it had came through someone like a Meltzer. |

People always hear about stupid stuff WWE/Vince does, and they think "oh boy, this might be the one!", but then it bounces around the wrestling press for a couple of days and becomes just another damp squib. But it's different when it hits the mainstream press, and it's about something people are likely to care about. Vince firing a bunch of guys for no reason, or doing a show in faraway lands, or having a dull product, none of those mean anything at all to the average non-fan, they may as well not even be happening at all for all anybody cares. Make it about a CEO abusing his power and potentially company money to commit and hush up affairs, though, and suddenly you've got a story. One that you don't have to understand wrestling to understand is bad. |
