My knowledge of stock markets are...minimal...at best to be brutally honest but my best guess is that there'll be a fall for a while and maybe it'll calm down and get back to somewhat normal levels at some point?
I don't know, as I admit my knowledge of stock markets is minimal at best.

But how will the writers incorporate this into the show?

It's down 12% from what it was a week ago so... Yeah, at the moment it is kind of plummeting.

Yeah, it's a pretty big sustained drop rather than an off a cliff drop, but the hope that Vince being business as usual would stop that doesnt seem to have worked.
Although, as I suspect they will point out themselves at the next investor call, they are still 15% up year to date, still up on where they were 5 years ago, still very much in their average range (the big highs they've seen prior to the Vince story breaking are actually unusual for that and where they are now is closer to their norm) and still have big stadium shows upcoming.
Granted, if Cena or Rock decide they are getting too toxic to be involved, or sponsors get edgy over more Vince related details coming out, that could spike them much lower, outside their average, and that is still very much on the cards.

While investors may think of WWE as some major entertainment industry success, they may not be seeing the trees for the forest.
While it may seem that WWE's revenues are primarily driven by B2B, the reality is that those revenues still depend a great deal on viewer engagement. With inflation an increasing worry and fuel prices hurtling towards the point of demand destruction, WWE's ratings cannot afford any further stagnation. House shows are likely to see lower numbers and merch sales will drop as well. Vince's continuing insistence on being on TV may begin hurting ratings, especially if the investigation ends with him reinstated and nothing revealed.
All of this is to say that some very big economic forces are likely to bear down harder on entertainment budgets than most other sectors, and WWE's reliance on live audiences and frequent travel may hurt it even more.

We’re on a collision course with another recession so the entertainment industry in general is about to get f***ed…
