With Vince officially stepping down it looks like it’s already happening. On Wednesday the stock closed at a share price of $67.18. This is the highest it’s been all year. Despite the rough economy WWE’s stock performance has actually been great, up more than 25% points since the start of the year. This is in stark contrast to the Nasdaq Composite which is down more than 32% since the start of the year. With Vince stepping down the stock has already fallen more than 3%. This wouldn’t be too concerning as stocks rise and fall all day, but given what we know, I think it’s just a matter of time before that 3% is eclipsed. Wall Street loves Vince. Beyond that Wall Street has long loved what Vince represents. A self-made billionaire with a long track record of financial success in a company they founded. When a CEO like that steps down it’s more than common the stock price takes a hit. Right now though, the graphs don’t look too concerning. Bad time to buy right now. If it really starts falling and it’s what looks like a bottom then buy. Maybe. I don’t invest in individual stocks, so I’m just interested as an observer.

I dont think it will plummet.
Steph is basically just Vince by proxy.
It wont tank unless it looks like a) sponsors care, b) the networks care or c) Vince is going to be ousted.
As it seems that none of those are currently on the cards, I think the stock is probably safe from too big of a drop.

They’ve built up quite a buffer by somehow increasing over these last few months while everything else plummeted. The finances themselves aren’t in any jeopardy so I’m not seeing a huge plummet happening.

Unless something REALLY terrible comes out I don't think the stock will plummet at all.

Investors likely think WWE outperforming the market this year was in spite of Vince, not because of him.

Investors likely think WWE outperforming the market this year was in spite of Vince, not because of him. I’m 99% sure that’s not what they think. They typically think that Vince is an irreplaceable asset, at least creatively speaking.

And while Vince himself could get hurt by this, I don't think WWE's clientele will leave WWE in any sort of noticeable numbers over this. Vince McMahon has been presented to the public as a heel for 20 years. I doubt this will even greatly change public opinion on him. Most everyone sort of already assumed he was a slimeball and consumed WWE anyway.

Knowing this company it'll actually go up and they'll net an extra few mills from it.

What Alvarez has been saying the past couple of days seems accurate:
Vince McMahon is perceived to be significantly more valuable to the WWE outside of wrestling than he does inside of it.

Can afford to wait and see if the price dips further, and for the company to at least hint at what the plan is going forward.

Wrestling = WWE = Vince. That's the mainstream perception. That appears to be Wallstreet's perception. If Tony was to take AEW public, given his experience and management of two other sporting franchises, then we've got a conversation. Until then, Wrestling = WWE = Vince

Eh, I don't see stock falling that much given they've made clear Vince is still in charge of creative and Stephanie's only temporary CEO. I'm sure it's fairly obvious this is a PR play.
