CM Punk should have been in WrestleMania XXX main event!

I think it was big bullshit from WWE to deprive CM Punk of his WrestleMania main event again to give it to Batista who was returned after 4 years of absence!

For me he clearly should have been in the Triple Threat with Orton and Bryan instead of Batista.

When we see his career in WWE from 2011 to 2013 with his excellent matches and his superb promos, it is clearly shameful to have deprived him of it in favor of part-timers!

I do wonder if they just gave him a fat wad of cash in the Undertaker size for 29 would he have gotten along better and maybe just took a sabbatical instead of what happened.

Punk should have been nowhere near the WM30 main even if he was healthy. That’d have sucked heat away from Bryan.

I don’t think adding him to the WM29 main would have necessarily hurt the match, it would have made for more novelty arguably, but Rock and Cena made so much damn money the first time that WWE would have been fools not to have Rock close the show again in some fashion.

There’s no window for him solo main eventing, because Voice of the Voiceless was in the middle of the Rock build.

I like CM PUNK but his peak of populairity was 2011 to early 2013. by the time he turned heel in 2012 he was losing steam as a face. But was great as a heel He should of been in the 29 main event for sure but by 30 even if he had of stayed Bryan was more over as a babyface.

I don't think he belonged in the main event at all at that point. Like it or not Batista was a bigger star and worked better with the story involved. They already had Bryan as the underdog everyman and he was also much better and likeable in that role then Punk. The goal was to put Bryan over and involving PUnk who was similar and pretty over in his own right would've got in the way of that.

Like others have said punk could’ve and should’ve been in a mania Main event prior to 30, but DB and that moment at the end was a genuine WM moment and one of the best in many years.

Don't worry, Punk thinks so too and still holds a grudge against Miz to this day because he got a Wrestlemania main event and Punk didn't.

Really, timing just wasn't on his side. If Rock doesn't return he's probably main eventing with Cena in 2012/13. Once Rock is back though you have to do Rock/Cena then once that broke the all-time PPV record they'd have been leaving too much money on the table not doing the rematch. A triple threat with Punk is what the hardcores were screaming for but that wouldn't have drawn as much as Rock/Cena II. You can't throw him in just to placate his ego. And I know he claims he'd have been happy doing an elimination match and being eliminated in the opening 5 minutes but something tells me he'd be here years later complaining about how that buried him and made him look bad.

I think he would have eventually got the Wrestlemania main event if he stuck around but I'm not sure what year. It wouldn't have been 2014 or 2015 because 2014 was Bryan's year and 2015 was always going to be Lesnar/Reigns but after that, a WWE with Punk still around is obviously a completely different timeline and I can see a heel Punk main eventing WM 32, 33 or 34 against Reigns.

30 was Bryan's year and it's better Punk wasn't diluting it.

29, an argument could be made, though at that stage, getting an Undertaker match was also considered a really big deal, so it wasn't like he was chopped liver.
