He’s got a charisma that transcends language barriers. On top of that he’s been in a handful of what some say are the greatest pro wrestling matches to ever take place. If there is one negative, it’s that some of those same main event epics can feel a little bloated, but that’s not necessarily his fault as much as it is NJPWs style getting a bit long in the tooth for some. I’d definitely check out some of his matches that are available on YouTube. He’s had certified bangers with Tanahashi, Ishii, Omega, AJ Styles and just about every other top level talent to go through the promotion in the last decade.

I think he will widely be recognized as one of the top five greatest wrestlers of all time when he retires. I have only seen him perform once live and the whole vibe changed when he came in. It was like a Babe Ruth level athlete had walked in.

Dude has a charisma and an aura that isn't duplicatable in wrestling. Second he walks out people just feel it and they go nuts.
He's a once in a lifetime talent, he works like it too.

For me, it's the combo of being an amazing wrestler and having tons of charisma.
There's just something enjoyable about seeing him that's hard to explain.
Plus, dude got a shortarm clothesline over as a finishing move. That's pretty cool.

Aight, so imagine if somebody’s character was “what if they had hoes?” But not in The Godfather way, in the “they real nice” way
That’s the Rainmaker

He was great in TNA. Shame he couldn't live up to the potential he showed there.

Special is the right word. Saw him live at All In and I’ll never forget it. He’s got a f***ing aura about him.

He has that "it" factor to him. He has incredible physical charisma, ring psychology, and just checks off all the boxes of what makes a pro wrestler special. It transcends language and national barriers, too.
He's like the Japanese John Cena, only smarks never really stopped liking him outside of a small, albeit vocal minority.

Very talented, very charismatic, very good looking.
If I was going to criticize him for something, it's that he can sometimes be formulaic, but he is also being a bit more flexible in recent years. He is probably not AS versatile as some other top guys, since his best matches are still when someone can play his game so to speak, but still, it's something he has improved on.

He’s also the most “King’s Road” Ace that “Strong Style” New Japan has ever had.
He wouldn’t look out of place with the Four Pillars in All Japan. Yet he’s New Japan’s top guy.

He’s also the most confident and secure in himself top guy I’ve ever seen.
He carries himself like a mega star. Yet, he has zero issue being himself, at times.
I’m thinking of the video that’s out there of him, Toru Yano, and Gedo at an amusement park and him just giggling like a kid the whole way through while Gedo looks terrified of every ride.
