The elimination tag team match at Survivor Series ‘92 had a different lineup at first, according to Bobby Heenan on the countdown show. “But it’s not fair to Money Inc. and the Beverlys. They were planning to wrestle The Natural Disasters and The Bushwhackers. The Bushwhackers pulled out, and let the Nastys take their place.” If anyone can remember that far back, did WWE ever officially announce that Luke and Butch would be in the match? I was only a few months into my fandom and didn’t know when wrestling was on TV, so I was learning about my new interest through magazines and renting tapes at Blockbuster. I found a FAN thread discussing changes at this PPV. Fascinating stuff. officialfan.proboards.com/thread/479686/survivor-series-1992-original-line?page=1

The match was planned for KOTR, then was changed to Austin/Michaels. Austin/Pillman happened the next night on Raw. I thought Pillman has some sort of injury which prevented the KOTR match. Or was it a kayfabe injury since the original Shawn match was supposed to be Bret but I think neither wanted to do it. IIRC Pillman was using crutches around KOTR time. Nope, they just moved the match from KOTR to Raw a week after the rent (not the next night as I said earlier).

Also, there was originally not going to be a WWF Title match as the Ultimate Maniacs vs. Flair/Ramon was announced when Flair was still champion. Plus, the plan for the IC Title was Bulldog/Mountie. Bret/Shawn was always going to be on the show but with neither man holding a championship.

I know some people didn't like the Bushwhackers, thought they were dumbed down from the Sheephearders but really like Luke and Butch. Personality wise in real life, they probably were more fit as Bushwhackers.
I feel like they got shafted after early 1992. They were always good hands but rarely used in a major capacity unless extras in a tag tournament, a rumble or survivor series and those were rare. Both Wrestlemania VIII and Summerslam were dark matches, they got pushed aside for Survivor Series. They had no PPVs until used as extras the next Survivor Series. They had no PPVs in 1994 (only dark match at X). I'd much rather have seen them at Royal Rumble 93 or 94 instead of non roster members like Tenryu, Carlos Colon and Kabuki.
They got new colored gear but nothing really changed-just extras in Royal Rumble 95 and they didn't make any other PPVs in 1995, not even dark matches IIRC. Would have preferred them in 1996 Rumble over a number of guys Vince and Perfect didn't seem to know nor did WWF fans. Amazingly they lasted until late 1996 but no PPVs again. They were seen backstage at Summerslam 96. I thought one of them had a match with Marty Jannetty as a dark match at a late In Your House but wikipedia doesn't show that result. So they had no PPV or dark matches here.

Survivor Series 1991-It was supposed to be Sid, Bossman, LOD vs. Natural Disasters/IRS/Jake, but Sid got hurt and they took Jake out for some reason which turned the match into a 6 man tag. Didn’t Jake cut a promo at the show? I think they had some kayfabe suspension/no one gets their hands on him except Savage until Tuesday in Texas.

The 1991 final match would have been so much better with Jake and Macho (taking Sid's place). But I know they wanted to sell Tuesday in Texas and fans seeing them in a singles match. The opening match sucked pretty bad too. Like everyone had to be protected except Bulldog and Warlord based on ongoing storylines. The best match to me was the Duggan/Mustafa team match which was pretty equal to the 1996 Free For All match with how low those guys were on the card at the time. But it was a fun match full of characters.

Tatanka vs. Ludvig Borga at Royal Rumble 94, Borga was hurt before this show also. They ended up putting Bam Bam in which was fine as him and Tatanka had a feud in 93 that never was settled on PPV and had a good match.

Yes and he did it wearing the best Bill Cosby/Cliff Huxtable sweater you can find. Remember that show was still on the air at the time. Not a match but Wwe magazine in their Summerslam 1995 preview also said that Joe Walsh was going to appear. This was never mentioned on TV and their was no explanation as to why Joe didn’t appear.

Junkyard Dog vs Great Muta at WrestleWar 89 This is maybe the greatest match that never took place in wrestling history.

I thought he did the event but just the pre show, now checking google I can't seem to find anything. Probably for the best. Hopefully no money changed hands. The board should have investigated Vince long ago for all his wasting money with hiring celebrities who don't even know who the wrestlers are. Junkyard Dog vs Great Muta at WrestleWar 89 This is maybe the greatest match that never took place in wrestling history. I'm guessing JYD was supposed to lose and probably refused so he no showed. That Wrestle War tape was one of like 3 non WWF videos my video store had. I remember getting it in 1992 and knowing everyone but this Doug Gilbert guy. Almost 7 years later, I think his next PPV match at Royal Rumble 1996 and didn't seem like Vince or Mr. Perfect cared much either.

I have the SSlam 1995 pre show and he is not on there. I probably saw somewhere on a site years ago where someone started the rumor and it kept going. Admittedly I know little about Joe Walsh or the Eagles. I know Hotel California from the band and Rocky Mountain something or other from Joe and a few songs from Don Henley but that's it. Was there a Pittsburgh connection or did someone think these Eagles were related to PA so they decided to hire Joe Walsh?
