Dude took an ass beating for like 15 minutes and then had one of the best comebacks of the night. Hell of a performance for a last minute replacement.

That spear through the table turned that crowd completely on him. There was a legitimate stretch there where he was suddenly the star, and no one else in that match
It was a hell of a moment, they did it perfect

Clark really rose to the occasion. Ishii is someone who is a tough act to follow, much less fill in for, and he really made the most of that opportunity. A+.

Absolutely loved it. Not just a star making moment for Connors, but gives AEW a lot of good will and trust for knowing who/when to put in as a last minute replacement especially if it's a relative unknown.

New Japan deserves the credit to be fair. Connors was the loser in the match vs Ishii. It's NJPW policy that if injury takes a wrestler out for a tournament match, the runner up takes their place. Whoever the producers were for that match deserve a lot of credit for putting together that match so well so quickly. Especially if Ishii was meant to be the inaugural champion.

The crowd could have very easily shit on him for not being Ishii but he deserves a hell of a lot of credit for winning them over. I hope we see more of him in AEW.

It was my first time seeing him and I was rooting for him just because he was filling a big spot but he took the opportunity by the horns.
That spear he hit on PAC? Hooooo, that was so pretty.

I've only shown bits and pieces and what I saw in the BOSJ underwhelmed but boy did he rise to the occasion. Great effort.

Him going from being the biggest doofus ever to completely tearing the house down in an instant was so awesome. One of the highlights of the night.
