I think we get some sort of random shananigans with the MITB winner getting one of the titles back off him. Probably the WWE.
They'll be who Drew beats at Clash.
Drew will lose the title to Seth at Rumble.
Cody returns to win the Rumble and goes on to face Seth in another match, the story being he beat Seth all those other times, so he's in his head, yadda yadda.
Roman keeps the Universal title throughout, and takes it in to a match with Rock. Rock probably wins that, and the whole build of Roman is for absolutely nothing but stroking Rock's ego and popping some buy rates for Mania and views for the Raw after 'Mania, where Rock will give the title up, just to rub in his win meant nothing - especially if Roman than wins the title back as the result of whatever tourney or match they have to decide who gets it.

The possibility of The Rock fighting at Mania makes it tougher, but if that doesn’t happen, I think the classic path of Cody winning the Rumble and then challenging and beating Roman at Mania is the way to go.

Whatever they do, I don't want a MITB cash in. Actually put the guy who beats him over. Having someone take him out after a gruelling match with Lesnar is a waste of the title reign.

The Money in the Bank route this year seems to me to be "Drew wins MITB, announces his cash in for the UK PPV". The "they'll cash in during the Last Man Standing" is a red herring. imo, of course.

Judging purely by looking at their booking from the outside, it has to be Cody.
That doesn't mean it will be Cody, since this is WWE, but they've booked Cody as the absolute babiest babyface who ever faced as a baby, and he's still young enough that you'd get a few good years of him as top guy, but he seems like the only one who's a realistic answer given WWE's booking (though I guess McIntyre or Lashley still have some legitimacy to fans).

I’d say those that can realistically beat him in the next year if the company wanted: Cody, McIntyre, Lashley, Rollins, Riddle, Lesnar, Orton. Then there’s guys that haven’t been getting big singles pushes lately that would still be believable like Edge, Styles and Big E (health permitting).

Drew, Cody, Riddle or an injury forcing him to be out for a while and he's forced to vacate the titles
anyone else but Roman at this point would be welcome by me

I don't think it has to be an either or thing between Drew and Cody. You can easily do them both. Drew beats Roman at Clash at the Castle and gets his moment. He holds it for a few months and drops it either to Seth or back to Roman. Cody returns, wins the Rumble and takes the title from Seth or Roman at Wrestlemania. I'd rather Seth to close that chapter while Roman/Rock is the big attraction match that doesn't need the title.

I could see them splitting the titles for wrestlemania.
Doing Cody vs Roman for the WWE title: night one
And Roman vs Rock for the universal: Night two.
He loses to Cody Night one and beats the Rock night two

Vacant.
It's feels inevitable that all this heat and bullshit ends up being completely wasted.

At this point I don’t care if it’s Hornswoggle. Just get the titles off Roman.

Ezekiel barrels down as a last minute contender and trounces Roman in 2 mins a'la Ultimate Warrior vs Honky Tonk Man.
Backstage, Elias and Elrod take care of the Usos so no interference.
One bloodline vs another

The Clash marks the point just after Roman has been Champ for 2 years so I can see Drew taking the belt there. Either that or Cardiff gets the MITB cash in.

I can see it being an injury. WWE will keep putting back having to actually build a good challenger for him that isn't called Brock Lesnar and eventually their luck will run out. It'd be the worst way for Roman to lose the title(s) and I really hope it doesn't happen.
