As others here have mentioned a lot has come out about Rocky the last several years and not one word of it is any good. I only watched the first few episodes of Young Rock and even there they don't paint a very flattering picture of Rocky. And kudos to them for not sugar coating the kind of person Rocky really was. But as with most former wrestlers that Vince still holds in high regard, WWE only praises these terrible people like Snuka, Rocky and Moolah, so the average fan that knows nothing but WWE's rhetoric still celebrate and praise them. Only in season 2 (yep I watched both) do they start showing that Rocky had issues. But it's still sugar coated...I mean, it IS a family sitcom, so I guess it has to be. Like I said, Dwayne either praises or apologizes for his father on the show. Does he really feel that way? Or is it just Young Rock Dwayne for the show? Who can say? I know I had complicated feelings about my own father, but also regret that he's gone. The show also goes easy on wrestling personalities in general. You also won't see, say, Randy locking Liz in closets on the show, or Iron Sheik getting high, and such. Oddly enough, Moolah WAS depicted on the S2 finale, which caught me by surprise as even WWE "cancelled" her after the battle royal thing 4 years ago. Think she gets Benoit descriptions on the Network now, IIRC. (and I won't get into the polarized opinions about her guilt or innocence) In the same vein, Snuka is the only person who WWE removed from the HOF, yes? And as I've said, A LOT, it's not just WWE, as pretty much 99% of all wrestlers have their skeletons, yet most are still honored, WWE and otherwise. Why are we still surprised? And now I am wondering...was any wrestler banned from being depicted on YR? (Probably Benoit) Growing with a father like Rocks its always a complicated relationship youll have especially when they die. You hear people glorify their name or tell stories and you realize if you speak up you have a risk of being ostracized.

As speaking ill of such will also get you in a similar situation. I am sure there's things Dwayne looks fondly on regarding his father, while remembering the traumas. He is just on a show where he shouldn't be portraying the latter, at least in a totally dark way. As I said, he does the same for most of the wrestlers he worked with on the same show, despite what we know...allegedly or otherwise.

I remember in a shoot that Tony Atlas said that Rocky Johnson once sold some other wrestler a dead horse. I would like to hear more about this story. I bet such a story can't be beat.

Duane’s people stopped a book about rocky Johnson from being published due to the subject matter like the time he raped a 19 year old woman. Might wanna check out this article. www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-2000-10-14-0010140209-story.html

Can we forgive him for wanting to protect his father's public image? Is he protecting his brand in general? Looking at YR, knowing this makes Dwayne at least come off as a typical WWE fan, accepting their basic version of history and not ready to accept that most of its players could have feet of clay.

Why isn’t this in Young Rock? Sounds interesting than the hagiography the ads make it out to be.

In my opinion? No. Honor thy father etc etc etc. I get it. Forgive him? It’s not really our business or something we should care about. Lots of people have shitty fathers and cover for them or cut them out. Yeah I assume it’s to protect the brand a bit but again that’s not concrete.

Like I said I know where he'd be coming from, if so. As I also said, he does seem to protect the wrestlers depicted on the show, in general. Never mind that two got their own DSOTR episodes, another was a very embarrassing part of another episode. Did I miss any?
