Players who decided to play out their final 1-3 seasons instead of retiring with the one team they played for their whole careers. I'll start with this one.

Martin Brodeur ended his career with the Blues.

Robinson Cano went from a superstar in the making on the Yankees to an albatross contract on the Mariners. Being busted for PED's didn't do him any favors either.

Martin Brodeur ended his career with the Blues. On one hand yeah... on the other he was in a Blues alumni game before a winter classic with Gretzky which I find hilarious. Was it worth it.... depends on the day

Also the weird legacy of him on the Mets in being a piece for Edwin Diaz who is a great closer to enemy number 1 in the last few seasons.

Nah, I can't fault Malone going to LA; dude wanted that ring, I can't really get on a guy for doing that. He missed out on it, sure, but I get it. This image, meantime, is cursed.

John Stockton stayed with one team the whole time and knew when it was time to go. Malone could have retired with him.

Martin Brodeur ended his career with the Blues. I keep trying to memory hole that but people keep reminding me. Bobby Orr playing for the Blackhawks just seems WRONG to me on every conceivable level.

First off John Stockton can kick rocks Secondly, Malone was still an effective player wanted a ring. In theory, they had what it took to win by Pistons were more hungry and put the beats on them

At least when Shaq left the Lakers he still won another Championship with The Heat. But yeah the Celtics year was... well he was out of gas really.

In theory, they had what it took to win by Pistons were more hungry and put the beats on them For still being an effective player, he sure did run out of gas after only one year. Sounds like a guy that would do anything to win a ring, so he upped and went to a new team and when that didn’t work, retired one year later. Reeked of desperation. Don’t know what your issue is with John Stockton though.
