A headlock was a finish in the 40's. Backlund won the WWF title with an atomic drop. People need to get over that "just a transitional move" stuff. Heenan pinned a few guys with a side headlock. Hell, Bobby had guys submitting during pre-match instructions!

Bingo, but without the last second switch to landing on the neck/shoulders.

I hate that people use it as a kid move match. This must be how old time fans feel about the ddt. I’d love Rhea to start using it as a finisher.

Justin Credible's was not sustainable, but honestly looked like it snapped necks
Taker's was absolutely as dangerous but didn't look it
I wonder how many people's taints Taker knows intimately from piledriving them enough times

The IRISH WHIP was a finisher at one point. How? Think it was more that they whipped into the corner.

In my kayfabe mind, all piledrivers depend on the character on how devastating they are anyway.
Like Okada’s is lethal but he sometimes needs to hit the spinning variation for maximum results, while Taker and Kane have more power behind it and have honed their execution for so long hence why they end matches with it. Same idea with Minoru Suzuki and Jerry Lawler’s pile drivers.

I think the sit-out tombstone / Rikishi driver always looks awesome, and seems relatively safe as a finisher for a sturdy, thick-thighed wrestler

Watching his early Tombstones makes me cringe.

A great, devastating finisher if done right. Undertaker executed it absolutely perfectly. Kane's I thought was terrible as the opponents head ended up like a good foot above the mat. Safe yes...but not the least bit believable. Frankly they should've never had Kane doing tompbstones
