I don't mean like debuting for a new company. I mean someone's first ever pro wrestling match, period.
Ronda Rousey? That match was arguably the MOTN at Wrestlemania 34 and one of the most entertaining matches that year.

Rousey’s a good shout. I’d also throw honorable mentions to Hook, as I recall his debut generating a stank ton of buzz.

First pro match at all, it has to be a celebrity, since most full time wrestlers will have at least some developmental learning the basics, and celebs will have the resources, be surrounded by veterans to get them through it.
So probably Rousey.
For a 1 on 1, I'd go LT, Mayweather or Shaq.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Sable (with most of the credit going to Luna, of course, as well as Goldust and Mero).
Her looking like a total ass-kicker here in front of a hot crowd is what made them think they should turn her into an actual wrestler and one of the focal points of the Attitude Era. Fourteen months of Sable-related suffering started here.

It is absolutely Ronda.
It may have been a tag match but she was mega over and had to do a lot of heavy lifting while her tag partner has a faraway look in his eye
Floyd would take it if we also included the buildup. How many celeb wrestlers manage to work in a turn, successfully?
Also, I don't know what Shaq match is being cited above but I haven't seen it. I argue his match with Jade and Cody is third on this list though

Yeah has to be Ronda. Many debuts were good but few were moty contenders.

Ronda match was a really good debut, but I’m going to go with LT.
LT had a singles match in the main event of Wrestlemania and it was way better than it had any right to be. LT could have easily phoned it in, collected a big payday, and went and scored some crack after the show, but he brought his working boots and took it all very seriously. Ronda already had a ton of experience with grappling and was in there with a ring general in HHH, probably the all time chickenshit heel in Stephanie, and the ghost of Kurt Angle I’d be more surprised if it was a bad match,
Shout out for Bad Bunny, dude looked like a natural in his match.

No love for DeAngelo Williams? Dude looked like a vet in his first match

Going to throw some props to Johnny Knoxville here.
First wrestling match at 49 years old in front of a Wrestlemania crowd, and for what it was he and the whole Jackass crew knocked it out of the park.

In terms of intended crowd reaction, Goldberg's is up there. Dude was a total unknown and got super over by the end. And yes I know he had a few untelevised matches beforehand but still.

One I haven't seen mentioned yet... Dennis Rodman.
That BATB tag with him teaming with Hogan against Giant/Lex is amazing.

Did anyone else win a belt in a debut? I nominate Nicholas Cone.

Did anyone else win a belt in a debut? I nominate Nicholas Cone. The Giant? I think he'd had one or two matches before debuting in WCW, but it was a very small amount, whatever it was. I hate to say it, but Logan Paul is someone who is admittedly in contention, even if Rousey's is better still. Not that I especially want to give her credit, either.

I feel like Jun Akiyama takes it for overall wrestling skill displayed - he was a medium-tier wrestler (and not "for a rookie") on day one.

Might not be the greatest but he beat John Cena and he just got it in my eyes.

Stephen Amell was pretty good.
For an actual wrestler, Jade Cargill had a pretty fun debut in that tag match with Cody Rhodes, Red Velvet, and Shaq.
