the treatment of women during the attitude era and even some moments up to now, just awful and horrible. The treatent of Damian,Matilda and animals whenever they get "used" for a talent or gimmick, hated it as a kid and even more so now,no beautiful animal should be a part of a wrestling event. The treatment of little wrestlers and their use for comedy, just distasteful. I guess im quite a sappy fella! I cringe every time I see Matilda out there on old shows. She looks hella overwhelmed. Especially with hindsight knowledge of Dynamite Kid and his douchery.

When the Impact Zone crowd booed Christy Hemme for advocating for gender equality and cheered when the Voodoo Kin Mafia made misogynistic comments at her.

That time when I thought it was a cool idea to make a school essay about "Journey Into Darkness: The Unauthorized History of Kane" in front of the whole class. Haha how did that go?

Hoo boy, where to even BEGIN?
-The first ever ROH match between Da Hit Squad & The Christopher Street Connection. I get ROH wanted to say "We're wrestling, not Sports Entertainment!", but couldn't they get Doink The Clown cosplayers instead of homophobic garbage, for pete's sake?! (And whatever happened to The Christopher Street Connection?) -A lot of the misogynistic moments from the Attitude Era. One reason why many of it did not age well. -At ROH's 6th Anniversary Show in 2008, how bout that time Larry Sweeney (R.I.P.) tried to get Bobby Dempsey to rape Allison Danger? And the crowd cheering for that garbage? No wonder why Gabe got fired from ROH by the end of that year! -Katie Vick, especially Hunter dry-humping the mannequin, throwing spaghetti at the camera and saying "I SCREWED YOUR BRAINS OUT!". Just, WTF?! -Nearly everything in XPW, with the exception of Juventud's infamous promo and that time they had a highlight reel using NSYNC's "It's Gonna Be Me". -This one's a bit personal, but the WWE fans cheering for the Authority at WM32, despite all the X-Pac heat that stable got. It was the moment I lost all sympathy for WWE fans plagued by bad booking and vowed never to feel sorry for the fans ever again (Yes, I know Roman's push was bad, but the Authority in my opinion was way, way WORSE.) -THAT Bubba Ray Dudley promo at an ECW PPV (Heat Wave 98 I think it was?) -HHH vs Booker T storyline in Early 2003. -The WWE fans worshiping Vince at a recent SmackDown episode after more controversies about Vince were exposed. -AJ Styles' last TNA match. Way to show appreciation for the guy who was "Mr. TNA" with that disgrace of a match! -Damien Sandow committing career suicide in IMPACT with that horrendous Liberace-wannabe gimmick. -Thinking Joey Ryan was cool and not realizing what a horrendous person behind the scenes.
There's way more, but I decided to give just a small sample of the moments that were just bad.

ROH fans chanting "MAN UP" at a staged sexual assault scene. Was this the Larry Sweeney/Allison Danger/Bobby Dempsey segment? I've never actually seen it, but I have definitely heard of it.

Yep, that one. I was blanking on Dempsey's last name til after I finished the post and didn't think it was worth an edit.

A lot of the Attitude Era stuff was hard to watch around family. I remember a number of occasions where I didn't want to watch in the company of others because of the possibility of risque content. Just some of the stuff I had to watch in the presence of my parents, grandparents or aunt and uncle:
- the Sable/Jacqueline bikini contest - a lovely episode of Raw which included Val Venis and Billy Gunn both sexually harassing Ryan Shamrock, as well as the Mark Henry transvestite angle - the Patterson/Brisco evening gown match - Trish barking like a dog - D'Lo Brown and Teddy Long playing the race card, in particular the promo where D'Lo paraphrased Martin Luther King Jr. - most of DX 2006 - the Melina/Torrie Wilson bra and panties match
I also remember watching the nights HLA and Katie Vick happened and had to sneakily close the door to my parents' room in fear they'd walk in and see it
Getting my own TV and then later, cable in my room, was a godsend lol

ROH fans chanting "MAN UP" at a staged sexual assault scene. Holy shit, kinda forgot about that. That was so bad. Didn’t the cut it off the DVD/PPV (can’t remember what it was on) and basically immediately apologize?

I've told this story before, but a gay acquaintance of mine threw a viewing party for the Billy and Chuck wedding episode. I was the only one at the party who was actually a wrestling fan. The rest of them were just excited that there was going to be a gay wedding on television. I've never been more embarrassed to be a wrestling fan than that night.

And that includes pretty much everything in the Green Lantern Fan "saga."

Honestly, the time when I was trying to get my lapsed fan parents back into WWE happened to be around the time WWE was having their Raw guest host era and things were painfully corny.
Stuff like Hornswoggle in DX, heel Michael Cole, dance offs, computer GM's and just the overall "so kiddy that actual kids probably think it's lame" kinda feel that WWE had at the time made me embarrassed to be watching it with my parents who watched and loved Stone Cold and The Rock.
I've gotten my partner into WWE the past couple of years and it's so much less embarrassing because the show is character driven and is family friendly without being painful to watch. In 2022, it feels like people of all ages can enjoy it, whereas in 2010 for me it was like "WHO enjoys this?!"
Of course that's only my perspective. Other people may have enjoyed it at least! There was stuff I did like, like heel Randy Orton, Punk vs Hardy, and in hindsight I miss Super Cena.

Austin Aries climbing on the turnbuckle and putting his crotch in Christy Hemme's face. So what actually happened here? I've heard of this incident but never actually seen it. She was doing the ring announcing and completely botched Aries and Bobby Roode’s entrance, introducing them as Kazarian and Christopher Daniels. Aries wasn’t too happy, to say the least. He backed her into the corner and forced her to make the correct introduction, during which he did what was described earlier.
