Kind of an odd inverse of the other thread I know, but I've been thinking about how there are certain series that you get exposed to and aren't terribly impressed, except for the few character/s that somehow stand out for one reason or another. Maybe even to the point where you wish the franchise/media was about them.
For example, I'm fairly indifferent towards Twilight and find a lot of it eye roll worthy, but Billy Burke manages to infuse Charlie (aka Moustache Dad) with some gruff likability and bits of depth in his performance. He's like the one realistic character in an otherwise silly melodrama, and he makes the most of it.

If not for Arthur Spooner, The King of Queens is terrible.

Shampoo is the only character I even remotely care about in Ranma 1/2... I'm a sucker for anime Chinese girls.

I mean, most of what she makes are at their hearts comedies. A lot of the comedy in Ranma 1/2, Urusei Yatsura, etc, ends up coming from the characters bringing a lot of the shit they go through on themselves, Always Sunny-style. Haven't seen Maison Ikkaku, so I can't weigh in on that one, but I thought the characters in Inuyasha tended to be alright, if a bit immature sometimes.

Dislike is a bit of a stretch but I've always kinda prefered Marvel to DC... That being said I have a soft spot for Green Lantern... What I like about that hero (any GL will do even the more recent ones) is that even when writers nerf the Power Ring, and just limit it to energy constructs... It's STILL one of the most powerful, and versitile weapons/artifacts in comic history.

I'm not a fan of Superman but, I do like some of his villains like Brainiac, Metallo, and Mr.Mxyzptlk. I'd put Darkseid but I feel he's more a Justice League villain.

I actively dislike the Fast and Furious movies... but damn if the Rock isn't just ridiculously entertaining in in them.

Never was big on the Power Rangers, even during its glory days in the 90's, but I'll always watch an episode of RPM when I can because of how awesome Doctor K is.

Okay, so this is sort of a twist on the question, but I'm gonna answer JC Chasez from *Nsync.
I'm forever a BSB girl, so *Nsync? NOPE. BUT! JC was always the one member I was cool with, because I had watched and liked him back in the day on MMC; it was like we had already forged some silly little bond. That JC has always been a goodun in my eyes.

Like I am not surprised Timberlake was the breakout one, but there ought to have been room for both. That's something Backstreet Boys had over N*Sync, anyway, BSB feeling more like an actual unit, whereas N*Sync was Justin or JC in the lead and the others kind of feeling like glorified backup singers.

Watched a few early series of Entourage for the first time recently, and whilst the program is a bit shit, I do enjoy Ari Gold and Johnny Drama. Hate Eric and Vince and don't care for Turtle though and the show is tough for me to get through, but I'd totally watch an Ari Gold spinoff.

I think Family Guy is, by and large, terrible and I don't like either character seperately but the episodes that focus on Stewie and Brian together do a really good job of showing the affection they quietly have for each other. It makes two unlikeable characters likeable and makes for quite enjoyable episodes.
