Cuz he's too good a dude for them to be using the goodwill he has as a universally good dude to trot him out there&deflect from Vince being a total scumbag.
Shameful.

They did that because of his reputation and they know whatever happens next and whatever comes out, a lot of that would be hurt on the fact he was the guy who said they were a “safe haven”. It’s the sort of clip that’ll be quote tweeted on anything he does, regardless of how good it is.
It’s bullshit, basically.

"WWE is a safe haven" says the man who was almost fired for touching his boss' arm.

I agree.
I feel like Titus has reached a point in his philanthropy that he doesn't need the WWE umbrella to provide support. He is obviously passionate about what he does, and could find a better organization that isn't mired in controversy.

That was so uncomfortable. "We don't discuss religion or politics or anything divisive!" Uh huh...

Sorry if I'm out of the loop, what happened? Titus opened Raw last night with a speech about how WWE aims to entertain everyone, and that the company is a safe haven from religion and politics.

Just watched it, man that made me sick. And considering it was sooo calculated to have a universal loved dude to say all this shit, when you know WWE stands for exactly the damn opposite. I feel terrible for him. Who knows, maybe he’s been Jedi mind tricked enough times to actually believe WWE stands for all of that. I don’t know. Either way, I feel bad for him.

I feel horrible for Titus having to be put into this shit. While watching it, I could easily tell that he looked mortified to have to say what is outright bullshit.

Leave it to a vampire like Vince McMahon to trade on the goodness of one of his other wrestlers and taint them solely for the purposes of trying to cover his own ass. That same good guy he once had to be eased down from firing entirely a few years ago, now having to lay his credibility and dignity out for an accused rapist to trample on. It's f***ing disgusting.

Sure if you don't count the time they had Presidental candidates cut promos don't he show and the time Vince booked himself against Shawn Micheals and god.

One of their biggest draws of all time is best known for co-opting biblical scripture to mock a reborn Jake the Snake.

Isn’t there an Observer “award” for most disgusting promotional tactic? If so, this is a shoe in. Like I said in the Raw thread, that was about as subtle as them making Titus host Mania with Hogan. Almost rolled my eyes right out of my head when he said they never bring up religion. To quote Joey Styles, “he mocks God”. An all around awful segment executed by someone who actually does have the best of intentions.

Well, he could have said no.
Unlike probably many of the women WWE/Vince has abused.

Honestly, if everyone gave just one example of why this is bullshit, this could easily end up one of those "how did this get to 30 pages" threads.

Well, he could have said no. Unlike probably many of the women WWE/Vince has abused. Depends on whatever contract he has with them still. I’d assume having a Legends type deal with a good dude like Titus is good business.
