I've been loving the JAS stuff... the ending of tonight's match was kinda dumb.
I've found him entertaining as hell recently too.
Also he's letting 2.0 do some of the best work of their careers so I can't hate the man for that.

There's been a pretty distinct pattern to Jericho's AEW run thus far. Jericho does very well in a role but eventually gets stale and people want him to go away. So he restyles himself, either through a gimmick tweak or a heel/face turn, and people remember "hey he's still really ****ing good." Then we get a couple weeks (maybe a couple months) of "JeriGOAT" and whatnot. Then that restyling hits a snag - a rough promo here, a questionable match ending there, a feud that goes too long - and Jericho is stale and needs to go away. So he restyles himself...
I'm not doing this to call the fans fickle or anything, mind you. Just saying that Jericho has a history, in AEW at least, of being able to overcome this type of sentiment.

I dont like Jericho currently but he's over like a rover. It would be a bad move to pull him away

Has the OP considered that perhaps Eddie is injured? He has been dealing with a bad back since Blood and Guts, perhaps he is taking a bit time off then returns to feud with Sammy

He's in the best shape of his career for like a decade and his in ring stuff and character work is great right now. He just needs to stop feuding with someone for a literal year; it makes him stale, and it drags down his previously hot opponent and derails them.
It happened with MJF and now its happening with Eddie; think of how hot Eddie was when he beat Jericho at Revolution; that he's still as over as much as he is is a testament to the connection he has with the audience. Eddie needs to move on so bad. MJF came out of his feud with Jericho pretty cooled off but was able to recover and go on to have amazing feuds with Punk and Wardlow; hopefully Eddie can too.

His character is fun. But the actual booking of his feuds just DRAGS so much these days.

To be fair Jericho was out of shape vs MJF hence fans hated that the feud was longer than Jericho/Eddie was(I still see that the feud ended last night).
Eddie washes Sammy which is the easiest way to heat him up again

I've hated the JAS stuff from the start and although I don't hate him, he's not a must-see for me anymore. He was so important as the first world champion but I think we've really moved beyond that now. And as I mentioned in the other thread, I have zero idea why he went over Eddie last night.

Either Eddie is still dealing with a bad back or they need a credible opponent for Mox if Punk cant make it(It would suck if Punk is rushed and gets hurt again)

He has been dealing with a bad back since Blood and Guts, perhaps he is taking a bit time off then returns to feud with Sammy I think Eddie is pretty clearly dealing with an injury...or at the very least, he's got a disc issue that is super susceptible to flaring up in matches. I feel like that's a lot of the reason the barbed wire match was booked in the first place. It was pretty low impact, but looked brutal. It just wound up too overbooked, so everyone hated it.

In a way reminded me of Britt/Ruby ended(Ruby won but Britt beat her up afterwards).
The Shark Cage match was rendered useless but Warnermedia asked AEW to do use it though

Tonight's match didn't work, but people have bad matches. Sometimes plans dont work out. Overall, he's been really fun lately.

Despite my qualms with Chris Irvine the person, I still find Chris Jericho entertaining — he just doesn't need to be booked so strongly, especially at this stage in his career. Seth Rollins has been putting guys over left and right the past year and he's more over than ever; he's a made man. No reason Jericho can't be doing the same.

I love Jericho, and the fact he's beating Eddie Kingston only makes it better.

Because Cole is hurt imo, once he returns and Malakai and Ricky move up the ladder then Jericho will move down the card again, Undisputed Elite were supposed to be the top heel stable but now its JAS in the meanwhile

I’m assuming Jericho won because Claudio stole Kingston’s win at Blood & Guts and they still want him to hold that against him?
I hope Jericho isn’t getting a title shot I have no interest in him v Mox again. Not sure where Jericho goes from here either. Danielson maybe?

Because unfortunately there is no other choice, the other option is Scorpio "no reaction" Sky because he is ranked number 1, gotta pray that Punk can make it back for All Out.

Since most of the complaints deal with Jericho’s booking, I’d have to imagine he will always have a HUGE place in Tony’s heart & mind. He was the first big name to sign up and give the fledging AEW a huge rub. Tony’s not a brutally ruthless guy like Vince, I’m sure there’s part of him that will always feel he owes Jericho. I’m sure he straddles a very difficult line in Tony’s mind between “Just use him to put guys over” and “Keep giving him big stuff, he did so much for us.”
