He needs to get bitch slapped in the worst way possible. Like homie out here killing with no repercussions and being really smug about it. Aegon is an asshole and a monster but he knows it. Cole thinks he is right in everything I didn't like that they changed him killing Joffrey Lonmouth in a joust, which is something that could feasibly be waved off as an accident, and instead literally murdered him in broad daylight and everyone just let him off the hook for that. I don’t mind it. People do obviously terrible things all the time and get off because of who they know all the time.

I like that the Lannisters are always shits. Theu’re like the Tannen family, where no matter the time period, they’re gonna be shits.

So a producer of the show made the serious mistake of saying that she’s confused by the internet boyfriend image of Daemon Targaryan and that he isn’t the greatest thing since sliced bread as a person.
You can probably guess what the fangirl response has been. Expect that producer to be off social media soon.

If you’re looking for Team Edward vs. Team Jacob, this is the wrong story for you.

I don't want her to get mobbed, but it's kind of funny how Hess is heavily tweaking how Rhaenys/Rhaenyra/Alicent are being written while feeling uncomfortable about how Daemon is being received. I dunno why ASOIAF show "writers" have such a hard time maintaining the integrity of GRRM's original work and allowing the audience to react as they will.

I would have thought by now that people involved with the ASOIAF-verse would know that pretty much like 90% of Westeros are awful people.

I dunno why ASOIAF show "writers" have such a hard time maintaining the integrity of GRRM's original work and allowing the audience to react as they will. I disagree on the idea that Alicent, Rhaenys, and Rhaenyra are being tweaked in any way. Each character after had been written as being as flawed as each other. Some worse than others depending on the point in the story we’re in. And again, everything we’ve known about these characters until now were written from the perspectives of in-universe “experts” who have obvious slants towards the side they were supporting at the time. So any possible exaggerated flaw or virtue each character is believed to have had are more than likely just that. I’m sure Rhaenerya is pretty ruthless and mean but, I promise you it’s not nearly as bad as Septon Eustace made it out to be in his retelling. I’m sure Alicent was pretty relentless in wanting Aegon to be king but, not nearly as much as the sources who supported the Blacks say it was. That’s not even getting into the fact that GRRM has heavily implied that, like in real life histories, the historians of this world have a bad habit of writing women figures as “Hysteric” and “Shrewish.” So if it seems like the female characters are coming off better in the show than in the books, that’s because they are better than they were written. Jason Lannister isn’t the only one who thinks women aren’t fit for power in Westeros. He just said the quiet part out loud.

Also, even if he was literally rotting in his last years, it probably would have been a good idea for Viserys to call up all the lords for a vow-renewing before he died. Whoops.

As far as Daemon goes, I think Sara Hess may have gone too far in questioning Daemon’s love for his family. That said, I think it’s fair to say his ambition and his constant need for attention and approval stops him from being as good a family man as he could be.
Would a guy who basically groomed his niece from a young age to keep himself as close to the throne as possible be someone you’d put on the level of, say, Ned Stark in terms of love for family? I wouldn’t.

I wouldn’t. Seems like that's the direction they want to take his character, since they apparently had scenes of him comforting Rhaela/Baela after Laena's death removed. To say nothing of the retcon of having him kill Rhea Royce.

He's a piece of shit but he's an entertaining piece of shit and has a lot more depth than his book counterpart.

I really don’t want them to change any of the Tully names.
I want to see the looks of pure confusion when viewers hear them.

Rereading Fire and Blood brought this passage to my attention:
Ser Criston Cole spoke up. He spoke of Rhaenyra’s wanton ways and the infamy of her husband. “They will turn the Red Keep into a brothel. No man’s daughter will be safe, nor any man’s wife. Even the boys…we know what Laenor was.”
Charming man, that Kingmaker.

I’ve enjoyed this season a ton. The only negative I’ll say is that I think 10 episodes wasn’t enough. They did the best they could to get as much in as possible in a way that respects the overall story but, I think HBO’s insistence on a traditional 10 episode season really shortchanged them.
I’m also not sure 4 seasons of 10 episodes will be enough to tell this story, either. There’s so much to cover and even the newer material adds more layers that will need to be explored. 40 episodes is cutting it close.
