Looking back, I don’t actually think this was a bad a business idea as some people think. It was an era when television was king, and they were in the throes of a ratings war, giving away a match on TV like that kept eyes on Nitro because stuff like that makes a programme must-watch TV, and if that’s what’s happening on TV then imagine what’s going to happen on PPV.
