WWE is under new management and the product is going TV-14. This could be either a noticeably different product that doesn’t hit the same or it’s about to get really great. Given the nature of this, I sincerely would hold my excitement, because who knows who is actually going to be in charge and what moves are actually going to immediately change I'd also settle for a different product that doesn't hit the same because what's hitting now kinda sucks tbh... change up ANYTHING...

I figured the day Vince McMahon voluntarily retired would be 3 weeks after he was declared clinically dead. I can't even comprehend what the WSJ has on him to just make him quietly retire without any fanfare. This is the most f***ing surreal moment I've seen in 30+ years of following pro wrestling, and gives a whole new meaning to "never say never in this business." Vince is the kind of guy who would make (legit) cops drag him out of the arena for real on live TV if he thought he was headed for prison, so...

Oh you KNOW some people are gonna get pissy about this post, meanwhile, considering why Vince McMahon had to step down in the first place?

I don’t mean to de-rail the thread but this is seriously a massive day in wrestling history, not just North American but world wrestling history. Easily the biggest wrestling story since Benoit and I’m trying to think of a bigger story ever. No, this is THE biggest. Since the day he bought out Jesse, he has been the man in wrestling. And let’s not lie - we all thought the only way he’d go would be feet first.

Well, blimey.
Yes, Vince McMahon was responsible for many of us getting into wrestling. He was the 20th Century equivalent of PT Barnum, the notorious, flawed and successful showman of the Victorian era. (Which is both a compliment but also a criticism.) But, frankly, coercing someone out of a job on sexual harrassment counts more for character than booking WrestleMania III ever did.
I've been heavily conflicted about McMahon for most of my life, but the dam has well and truly burst, and to be blunt, feck knows how many skeletons are about to be revealed.

Wouldn't that be Leonard Asper over in Impact, though?

Booooo...carnies gonna carny though... Vince tried to kill AEW by throwing NXT at it, and got ousted for being a sex pest. He can make this post and lay back

WWE has had a pretty great 2022 I’d say. Good business numbers. All the PLEs have been good. Some fun stories, but there’s some forgettable stuff too. I do think we’re gonna see a change since Vince is no longer calling the ultimate shots and a more mature programming will see some differences too.

There's still a few steps before I even think of giving WWE a chance again, but this is by far the biggest one taken.

The changes are not gonna be happening overnight as much as I myself and alot of others would love to see take place as quickly as possible. But the rest of the year now to square this up into a window of time for the onscreen product is gonna so f***ing interesting to watch just to see how much really changes...maybe tonight will give just a little glimpse. Onscreen no, but creative is not the priority. Hopefully the companies culture changes as quickly as possible to prevent any other abuses of power.

Vince McMahon and Johnny Ace are gone, Triple H is in charge of talent relations, Steph and Nick Khan run the show, and TV-14 is apparently on the horizon.
The times, they are a-changing.
