halfway through February and all is quiet. Khan said that it's probably going to be quick and a 3 month sale or so. Fully expect business to start picking up around March 1. Three months puts it right at Wrestlemania in LA so if it is indeed a legit attempt at a sale I fully expect a dog and pony show announcing it there. This thread going to absolutely blow up one random day. LMAO

9 billion dollars is the kind of asking price you ask for when you want a number that seems realistic, but is still higher than anyone who would want the company would be prepared to bid. Disney bought marvel for 4 billion and they had a vast library of IP and a flourishing movie studio set to rewrite the box office record books. The WWE own some IP, a tape library but none of their characters are worth anything without the wrestlers that portray them. Iron man is Iron man whether it's Tom Cruise or Robert Downey jr inside the suit but there's only one Hulk Hogan (thankfully) and if they want to use him, they have to write a cheque. They can't just trot out new Hulk Hogan, god knows they've tried.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if anyone bites at $9 billion, it'll be VC companies waiting to saddle it with an Elon Muskian level of debt, the kind of hole they will never dig out of. They'll strip away the money from the tv rights as dividend payments, the company's cash reserves and slowly bleed it out for a decade like Bain did to Staples, Clearchannel and Toys R Us.
