Like I said, just confirm you’re in charge again. He rarely went to SD even when he was in charge.

I think they can be separated in a sense of “They expected him to be backstage eventually, but they didn’t expect him to actually be there that night”… I think?

The fact that he’s not confirmed that he’s back in charge makes me believe that’s because he is in fact not running creative yet. Like you said, he hasn’t cared about easing in so I think it will be apparent/announced when or if he’s back running things.
