They should of done Drew vs Sheamus at the Ppv and same with riddle vs Rollins and I’m sure I’m missing more. Is edge vs Balor happening? This isn’t the first time either. A few years ago when they had that story with Roman and Bryan they left both off the card. That could of easily been a big time match

If I hazard to guess, it would be because they wanna save stuff for Clash at the Castle.
Balor is teaming with Priest against Rey and Son in a no DQ tag (though I'm guessing Edge runs in during that to cost Judgment Day)

Clash at the Castle is actually the real Summerslam card (20 years after Wembley no less), but WWE still wants Summerslam to be in America to pack a Stadium, so they pretty much just slapped the Summerslam name on a B-show with a Roman vs. Brock main event so it wasn't quite as noticeable, and are saving a lot of the big matches for Clash.

How could they omit Omos?

This is what happens when you want the show overall to be shorter but want the matches to still be decent length.

Because it’s a 1 day event, unlike WM. Not everyone can be on the show. They have a deep talent pool right now and that’s a good thing.

They should have saved Lacey vs. Aliyah for Summerslam.

I'm surprised they don't do a preshow match anymore. I don't know if everyone is allowed to see the preshow on Peacock, but an hour of just talk is a bit much even if they don't have to sell the PPVs in a traditional sense. I'd keep Riddle vs. Rollins on the main show and add a match there.

Because they're still booking it based on Vince's plans and the only names Vince cared about were Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

They've got a really short runway for Clash at the Castle so they're saving some stuff for that show. I actually appreciate that it seems like that show won't just be 90 rematches.

It’ll keep the show shorter but I do wish they added some of the big names onto the card and had the show run an extra hour or so.
McIntyre Sheamus Styles Owens Rollins Edge Riddle
All not hurt and have no match.

All those folks will be on Clash at the Castle. Edge is likely showing up during the tag match.

They seriously left Madcap Moss off Summerslam, how do you do that?

Conspiracy theory time
WWE has deliberately done this to make the fans question why big names were left of the card. Then next year Summerslam 2023 becomes a 2 night event and WWE says "we've listened to the fans who have demanded to see all of their favourite WWE Superstars compete at Summerslam" whilst pocketing twice as many ticket sales and ppv buys.

I actually think it's simpler Vince hated being reminded of being old,so instead of treating the original ppv's as Historic Showcase events the way Tennis and Golf have the 4 Slams, Summerslam and Survivor Series are just treated like regular old PPV's equal to Money In The Bank or Hell In A Cell.Royal Rumble is just something on the road to Wrestlemania like a buildup to WM instead of the 2nd biggest event of the year, and the marketing of WM always uses Roman Numerals cause Vince logic goes you are less likely to think of WM as something almost 40 years old if you see a graphic with XXXVIII instead of 38.

This could be a trivia answer in the future. Which major PPV had the wrestlers who were standing tall with their music playing to end the Raw and Smackdown go-home shows not even appear on the card? And it wasn't due to a last minute injury/suspension. They just weren't booked in a match.
Rollins will probably appear in some fashion though. And Drew might stop Theory from cashing in and/or confront Roman or Brock after the main event.
