And the match was largely the best of this Mania which proved once against that Punk completely deserved his WrestleMania M-E. I don't know about all that Imo it should have been a triple threat match for the title but as said Punk only held the title that long so they can get to that moment. He didn't walk away empty handed and more importantly it is not Rock fault he didn't get a ME at Mania. Punk held a grudge against Miz because he got the ME the year prior but people forget Miz was clear 3rd fiddle and in no way was Punk going to accept a role like that Punk should had lost the title to Ryback when he was on fire but they had him keep the title to make Rock beating him bigger Ryback was frankly very mean and dangerous in the ring. I would absolutely not have wanted him as a world champion.

Also, I'd guess if Savage hasn't passed be would've been back in some capacity. Along with the action figure, he was just in the video games for the first time in forever. That was pretty much the start for everybody that came back or signed recently, like Warrior and Sting.

Only the big stars are. Probably cause it has gaurantees in the negotiations.
Guys like John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, even Jeff Hardy and RVD didn't get rewarded.

Getting Taker at Mania is one hell of a consolation prize for someone that got "deprived" And the match was largely the best of this Mania which proved once again that Punk completely deserved his WrestleMania M-E. Nah. Ricky Steamboat had the best match at Mania 3, he didn’t deserve to main event over Andre/Hogan Again. I’m sorry. But in those three Manias were he could’ve been considered a top guy he just wasn’t in a position to be in the main event. 27 you can argue but he wouldn’t accept playing third banana to Cena/Rock 28 no f***ing way anything main events that show other than Cena and Rock 29 this may be a controversial opinion but the rematch of the previous years match was the right call story wise. Adding Punk to the match for a triple threat just muddies the waters of the story being told and quite frankly, the match was still big enough that it didn’t need the boost of him being there. It’s really bad timing if anything. If he had caught fire a year before or like two years later, he probably would’ve gotten the spot

I agree that keeping it just between Cena and Rock was the right call but it didn't need the title. They should have had Punk defend the title against Undertaker or Ryback instead.

And in term of quality, the Cena-Rock of 29 was very mediocre with too much finishers in the match.

PPV buys were down from the record buyrate the year prior, but Wrestlemania 29 had the highest gate of all time at that time.

It was less than literally the biggest buyrate in company history and still as said right here, it was the biggest live attendance gate. You can argue with the wall about match quality and such and such but the fact is that the Cena/Rock rematch still drew big money. And story wise like I said before, Punk being thrown into the match just muddies the waters of the story being told of Cena’s redemption and earning respect from The Rock.
