Oh great, more vulnerable people for ITV to exploit and discard. You'd think multiple suicides would change things but nope.

It does feel like a very ITV2 type of show.
I also have to confess that the other day I was wondering why nobody had tried bringing it back, so I'm willing to accept 0.7% of the blame for this.

At least nobody’s calling it a f***ing Reboot yet.
Looking at you “Selena Gomez to work on Working Girl reboot” headlines, even though it’s clearly a remake.

Reality TV is a cornerstone of ITV's schedule, but a lot of their marquee shows have either been axed (X Factor) or getting VERY long in the tooth (BGT, IAC).
Big Brother has a fanatical fanbase which followed the franchise since 2000, and it gives Love Island a chance to rest before it goes stale.

I'm curious which fanbase ITV try to attract with their version. ITV2 is traditionally a teen orientated channel, but a lot of the people most interested in a Big Brother revival are those who watched the show in it's heyday, many of which will now be in their late 30s and early 40s.
I don't think they can play middleground either without isolating both.

Basically that. Like, it feels weird for it to be an ITV brand now but hey, it felt weird when The Voice jumped to BBC and the logic you said could be reflected when that happened. I am also interested in your other point, the Big Brother audience is old enough for to make it out of place for a teen oriented channel but having said that, the Love Island audience is getting older so it might be the transfer needed.

it died a slow death on both channel 4 (10 years.) & channel 5 (7 years.) so why bring it back again like a shuffling zombie just to watch it slowly die a death all over again, it's only four years ago that channel 5 gave up on it as a ratings loss, the nostalgia factor isnt there for it after such a short exile off the airwaves. it got very formulaic and manufactured towards the end on both channels.

I'm happy to hear this. I've always preferred BBUK to BBUS. I know that's comparing apples and oranges because they're two vastly different shows, but I prefer the UK's format.
Channel 5 mishandled the show, I think. Too many transparent attempts to manufacture drama and draw cheap controversy for the tabloids (e.g. casting Tila Tequila).

Can we get the brothers Tate and the brothers Paul on this please?
Their worked shoots on social media are ripe for Big Brother tension.

The first series of big brother was really good because it was something new and fresh. 2nd was good as well but after that it can get f***ed.
I sense the Traitors would go the same if it got multiple series

Is that AJ as in the girl who did such a bad job cohosting the spin-off that she was axed a few weeks in and Rylan hosted on his own? Not a good omen

I'm sad Emma Willis won't come back. She was a great host.
