Damn, I haven't watched in a while. Are things really that bad?
But Hook, Danhausen, Jamie and Ruby are my favs (and Punk before he got injured).

Despite the several shortcomings booking-wise, the matches for the most part are entertaining.
Hey (EW) is one of my favorite things and I look forward to watching it every Sunday morning with my pops when I get home from work.

PPVs feel like they are important since there are only a handful yearly.
Long term storytelling usually pays off well in the end.
Though it needs to be refined still, the women's division gets better each year. There is a stark difference in the talent and booking each year. It's still not great, yes, but there have been improvements.
Roster has been getting a lot more diverse.
According to talent, the backstage feel is good and despite how it was presented with Gresham, Tony seems to be very approachable.

Damn, I haven't watched in a while. Are things really that bad? I don’t think anything’s been terrible. It just seems like a one-two punch of a variety of factors taking AEW’s shows from “EVERYTHING IS A BANGER!!!” to “That was a pretty good show” and Vince’s departure already injecting new life and positive feeling into WWE’s shows

There's things I don't like but generally they make consistently good TV. Even the bad usually elicits an "oh well, can't win them all" reaction rather "why am I watching this crap".
Most importantly they honour contracts, didn't release anybody during the worst of the pandemic and while there's always room for improvement they aren't scuzzy by wrestling standards.
They use legends well, particularly Sting.
They listen to fan reactions and usually course correct... eventually.

After a couple of months stuck promoting the next thing, new stories are finally happening and abit of momentum is being built
At last one 3.5 star match or more per show.
Best roster in wrestling
Being consistently good is the baseline and its biggest problem is most fans want it to be great not good. Compared to the competition where competent is the bar.

Commentators use the words “wrestler” and “pro wrestling.” I appreciate that.

A mid card worth caring about
Even jobbers worth caring about
Hot crowds that play along and give the right reactions

Their crowds are almost always hot and I appreciate the chaotic energy Dynamite has, as opposed to WWE programming, which I generally prefer more but can be too formulaic/sterilized.

I think the injury riddled build to Forbidden Door threw some people off but Dynamite has been consistently well received for the most part week after week with great matches and good angles and people have had a vibe of AEW being in a rut or being cold. It's still been pretty good to me. Some of the longer term feuds have been on hold for a bit due to injury but otherwise things have been solid all things considered.

Even if how the destination they got there sucks for the most parts the endings to feuds are great along with the matches

While the way they introduce outside talent hasn't always been ideal (but it's getting better) I'm glad it's something they do semi-regulary. On the flipside glad they let people wrestle elsewhere.
A combination of them introducing new faces, other promotions being more accessible and the pandemic has got me into a whole lot of different wrestling I probably wouldn't have seen without them.
For instance the likes of Maki Itoh and Yuka got me to try a TJPW free trial which led me to DDT and noah. Seeing Asuka/Veny in two of those promotions led to me to going to watch Eve and there's a good chance I'll go watch revpro live at some point too.
